The iFly 737 MAX-8 will release first as Base Model for P3D v5, then for MSFS.
We then plan to do the -200 for P3D v5 and then MSFS
We would like to do the rest of the models, -9 and then later followed by -7 & -10.
And the latter 2 has not yet been released to market, so it will be some time before we can even start working on those. And without manuals we cannot build it.
Ah and there she is, a true beauty!
Here are the first screenshots, you can one-click translate the whole website in Firefox:
The outside 3D model:
Even the engine core turbine exhaust guide vanes are modelled 3D, very good! (Fenix and PMDG are on the less-detailed side here, with the buiness end of the engine nothing but a black hole and almost nothing inside when having a look during the walk-around. That´s why I love seeing fully animated and high polygon high quality 3D model engine nacelles!)
And the most important part, the virtual cockpit, with the iconic chevron-bypass-air N1 sound only the 777 had so far, clearly audible:
Will she be released for FS20 in November or December?
Is this a study-level airliner with perfect system depth and FMC-simulation? Are the circuit breakers functional?
I spot true greatness here!!! Here I found a video with a few virtual cockpit details. I can´t wait to make a full cockpit overhaul for this thunderbird!
Here is an even closer look, beautyful how the nuts and screws are modeled in 3D and the screens have a nice reflection:
I see absolute PERFECTION in this video!
At the end there is a bonus-pan over the circuit breaker panel.
Why is everyone hating Prepared, everything I ever saw from Prepared on YouTube looked PERFECT (and not like a Half-Life² mod with Nintendo64 textures and shadows in 640x480 that look like a sawblade like many addons in the other flight sim, but P3D was more very enhanced and modded FSX).
Why is everyone hating P3D, this is such a good sim and you also get the Captain Sim 757 freighter and the 777 there.
My wish was always getting these awesome looking planes from P3D, and it looks like at least this one here we will get.
Lovely how this 737 MAX looks like, everything looks fine and detailed!
Let´s see who is first in the trying-to-make-the-best-planes-for-MSFS-race, Fenix with the IAE turbine release or iFly releasing their MAX?
As a former P3D user here, the problem is that v5 of P3D just wasn’t supported by third party companies much due to MSFS being released. Sales dropped, it doesn’t make any sense to invest into a dying platform. P3D can’t really compete with MSFS in terms of scenery (without investing thousands of dollars like I did, and even THEN having some really bad autogen buildings and such)… Unless Lockheed Martin does something with that plan of theirs to use Unreal engine and provides a fresh simulator experiences, I am afraid the engine of P3D (which is really FSX-derived) just can’t measure up to current expectations.
iFLY also really utilized all of the beauty P3D v5 is able to muster - most other developers didn’t really update their aircraft beyond basic compatibility.
I own all those beautiful airliners on P3D but even the 737 MAX wasn’t enough for me to not uninstall it. The good news, it’s coming… We get the MAX (from both iFly and PMDG), we get the 777, 747, 757 (Bluebird), and MAYBE Blackbird will do their 737 Classic. Plus, the MD-11 is coming… with any luck, QualityWings gets their stuff together and actually deliver a 787. The future looks great for MSFS. Unfortunately, the P3D platform is in need of a good soul-searching. But I am rooting for them anyway. More competition is only a great thing for consumers.
The effort they put into modeling the lav is kind of silly, tbh, but okay. Their EFB looks very … clunky. I’ll reserve judgment until it’s in final form and in the hands of a lot more content creators to show off.
cabin detail does look great, but still stands true, why are people OK with the status quo of making multiple of the same plane, helo or airport, when other needed items are left out. If I were in charge of the planning, id revise that
the problem is once you’ve invested time and money developing a product, it’s difficult to just throw that all away. I expect both of the third party products were started waaaayyyy before Asobo announced theirs. So, maybe Asobo should have made something else, seeing as they probably knew that these were in the making.
I’m sure that this will be a bestseller, never mind the Asobo’s version in MSFS2024. And according to the latest PMDG statements, their MAX is very far away.
I think there is not enough attention for this plane on this forum.
For what i have seen in the past 24 hours it surpasses PMDG quality and features.
pmdg is taking forever … i mean a 737 series that is basically a rewritten plane with a solid blueprint from previous sims … no big updates lately …. And just one 777 version …. IN 4 YEARS
The Ifly looks great even the blinds in the cabin work
Yeah, oddly enough, this forum is not very interested in the iFly 737 Max. Outside of this forum on Reddit and Avsim, there is a lot of interest in the iFly 737 Max and a lot of people are discussing it. But this thread is pretty quiet, given that the iFly 737 Max may be even better than the PMDG 737 (and I own the PMDG 737-800).
I was bummed hard by the PMDG MAX shelving and will probably pick this up indeed. I do hope though that they will also make the 9. That’s the variant i wanted the most
