I’ve tried a couple of IFR flights, but haven’t had ATC do the altitude climb/descend callouts. The last one gave me the cruise altitude before takeoff. Am I missing something in my flight planning?

I’m having the same issue on Xbox series S. No ATC callouts on IFR plans. I also have to co pilot asking for a new destination which is the same destination I am already going to. Still very, buggy. Hope this gets fixed soon.
Correct. ATC is not calling for step climbs. If you received IFR clearance at the ramp, you are cleared immediately to cruise. There are some open bug reports on this and other ATC defects.
