I think I’m right but looking for confirmation…
When entering a flight directly in the cockpit on the G1000 NXi, you cannot make an IFR flight plan as ATC will ignore it and just go with VFR??
The only way is to use the world-planner and choose “IFR Low Airways” before spawning?
Seems like they missed a bit out maybe?
You’re absolutely right. The in-sim ATC will only work if the plan was done in the World Map.
And the NXi does do IFR planning - I use it all the time for VATSIM, which is of course a completely different ATC experience
Interestingly, WT did the NXi (wonderfully IMO) and I believe are scheduled to look at in-sim ATC in some future cycle.
So you never know!

Thanks, I thought as much.
Hopefully the WT ATC will be on XBox too, I can’t use VATSIM etc
From what I read of things coming from WT, their work appears to be all about native MSFS, which will/should include Xbox.
So the new avionics, ATC (and CJ4?) may start as Marketplace options but with a view to being part of the sim later.
Personally, I think Marketplace is the way to go and stay with WT. after all that’s how the WU’s are delivered, so why not?

This is obviously off-topic here, but this - shall I say ‘rumor’ - pops up every now and then.
Do you have a reliable source for it? As far as I know WT are looking into the in-game flight plan manager. But that’s a different cup of tea, isn’t it?.
It’s all tied together. If you change the Flight Planning Engine logic, you have to affect the current Flight Planner interface in the sim. WT has stated many times already - step 1 is to embed the new FP logic into every FMS in the sim. That sets the stage for step 2 to rip out the old FP logic in the sim itself and replace that - so the FMS and the underlying engine now talk to each other natively. Then you have to fix ATC because it’s tied to the FP Engine. And by extension at some point, also address ATC understanding of WX (i.e., cloud diverts etc). Although WT did not say anything about WX, they only made some commitments to ATC improvements.
The real underlying problem is the current FP engine doesn’t fully implement all AIRAC Procedure Legs.

I’m sure it’s been spoken of by Matt during a Q&A session, and on their Discord.
Fair point though, there’s enough rumours going about
I’ll ask Matt on Discord, see if I picked things up correctly. Or not.
As per a few moments ago.
So yeah, maybe my use of ‘scheduled’ is arguably a little inaccurate
