I'm looking for a recommendation for a modern jet fighter

All the standard aircraft are fine but I’d like to add a modern jet fighter.

Something like an F18 or F4 Phantom

Or even a British Harrier

There is only one available currently. IndiaFoxTecho’s MB-339

The closest to a jet fighter that I’ve seen that’s good quality is the Aermacchi MB-339, a jet trainer / light attack aircraft: https://secure.simmarket.com/indiafoxtecho-mb-339-msfs.phtml

I bought this a couple of days ago and must say I really like it.

I bought the MB 339, installed it and it flies like a dream

It’s really low to the ground so the takeoff acceleration is intensely fun

Thanks for the recommendation

I would invest in DCS world if I was in your shoes.
Not only specialed in fighter jets but also functional.
MSFS2020 will accept the fighters as a plane, but without any combat functionality.
The eagle Dynamics F-16C in DCS is my favourit BTW…

There are proper fighter jets on the immediate horizon for the sim. In early January DC Designs are releasing their F-15. Then after that they plan on releasing their F-18 Tomcat. Plus there’s some others due too.

Aren’t all planes low to the ground on take off?

Some are low, others are sports car low (8 inches between butt and pavement)

Thanks for the info

For now my Fighter Jet itch has been scratched

If you’re still keen for the F4, we have a basic version here - https://flightsimsquadron.com/2020/12/10/updated-model-for-f4-phantom/

No cockpit or animations for now but it’s free. I have a soft spot for that plane and hope to improve it as we learn more about the SDK’s capabilities.

As far as I know, the F-14 is called ‘Tomcat’, The F-15 ‘Eagle’ , the F-18 ‘Hornet’ and the F-16 ‘Viper’ or 'fighting Falcon ( depends on who you’d ask)

Dc Designs is making a bunch of fighters and the concord.

The first fighter is coming in January.

This was a post on their Facebook page a few days ago.

"FRIDAY UPDATE!

Great news this week: the F-15E Strike Eagle is complete, and all that I am doing is working to make things even better between now and the release date of January 2021."

This is the full list they want to make with a goal to finish all of them in 2021

  1. F-15 Eagles package
  2. F-18 Super Hornets package
  3. F-14 A/D Tomcats package – ( first native MSFS product )
  4. P-47 Thunderbolt
  5. USS Kitty Hawk
  6. Concorde
  7. F-16 C/D Fighting Falcons package
  8. A-10C Thunderbolt II
  9. Mk 9/14 Spitfires package
  10. Hawk T2

Weapons are so last year we want to fly around the world in a f22 Raptor.

Does it actually feel faster than all the other planes? does it feel like a jet?

That’s quite a list of lovely aircraft, looking forward to checking them out when they release!

I am a bit worried though that I keep hearing that supersonic flight is not modeled in MSFS yet, and many of those aircraft can fly supersonic. Will they just fly incorrectly, or do they artificially limit speed to subsonic flight, or?

We have a WIP version of the F-22 - F22 – Upgrade – FLIGHTSIM SQUADRON

Still working on it but free
