Am I asking too much?
Get 4 seasons mod.
Tried it, it doesn’t blend with the surroundings. Its just a workaround, not a solution…
It’s in the development plan. Probably not going to get it in time for this fall, though, sadly. But, next year… and, once it’s there, you can set the date for whenever you want.
Point being, it’ll be here eventually.
And, yeah, I super want it, too. It really is important.
You hit the nail on the head right there.
Really?. I’m so close to buying it but had a fear this would be the case. Is it obvious or something? Any examples. Did you get a refund? Thanks!
The LOD only allows 4 Season Mod to work in a limited area, beyond is still lush green, what can you do? I didn’t ask for refund, as a matter of fact I paid for an upgrade which is not much of an upgrade. But I don’t blame him (the creator of 4 Season), it;s just beyond his capabilities
Go fly where the season is fall.
Or is that not in this game.
There are some parts that have aerial photography taken in fall, the tip of Long Island for example
However the auto-gen trees are still green. Just like the snow patch, putting snow on top of full green trees and tall green grass.
I didn’t even think about that. His settings recommend LOD 200 and trees ultra. Are the stock green trees still present with these settings?
A shame if so but yes, makes perfect sense.
You may be using wrong settings if you see green trees in fall or you’re in area that doesn’t have fall trees colors.
Even at 200 you see fall very far in distance. This video is just 180 LOD.
Many use 300 or 400 LOD without losing much FPS.
@Jonny5Alive6618
Simply not true. LOD is not set by my season mod. It’s by what you set it. Higher LOD gives you more distance.
What upgrade are you talking about that you think is not an upgrade?
You shouldn’t have to mess with configuration files at all, it’s all just plaster before the final solution comes.
Aren’t you a bit biased to decide what your customers should like or not like?
Just my opinion.

Excuse me I am not forcing anyone to buy anything. I am just saying what was mentioned was not true. How is that even close to being biased ?
And it’s to up users to mess with config files, not you or me. I am just saying what options are available.
Relax a bit there.
Fully agree Bijan!
You shouldn’t have to, but you do have to
Exactly. This is a bigger problem with ‘seasons’ than just the trees. There is a mish-mash of seasons from early spring through to fall in the current Bing satellite imagery, sometimes jarringly close to each other. I just love flying over blooming fields of rapeseed then crossing the line to late summer harvested wheat. Likewise seeing a line between lush green spring foliage and dry summer savannah stretching off into the distance.
Not really sure how we can have meaningful seasons until we get consistent, monthly satellite image datasets in the database. I expect it will come someday, but it isn’t going to be anytime soon.
In the meantime - I’m more than happy with @bijanstudio excellent seasons pack. There’s more effort and passion gone into this than I would reasonably expect Asobo to be able to apply.
Not so much a ‘workaround’ as an enhancement.
Hey @bijanstudio - I’m confused by your sentance. What is simply not true? I was referencing your post here where you state you set TLOD to 200 and Trees Ultra. - I know your mod does not do that. Please explain.
You Said “Edit: After further testing, it seems that tree LOD has been effected in certain areas.
For best LOD results, use Terrain LOD 200 and change tree slider to ultra to get the 10 miles viewing distance. I hope Asobo will fix this soon.”
And to be clear. I am not attacking you, I’m very close to buying this. I’m just trying to get some clarification after reading these posts.
I was referring to what he said that this mod puts a limit.
I’m saying that’s not true as users can use any lod amount to increase the lod. There is no limit.
The quotet part you did was from many builds ago.
My recommendation is lod 300 to 400 after SU5. But 200 works great too.
