And pleeeaaaaase get rid off the pushback trucks standing at each position.
This is totally unrealistic and ruins the experience. I would rather have instant connected trucks out of nowhere, rather than as it is currently implemented

In SU11 the automatic pushback request by the co-pilot was fixed but it keeps requesting the end of the pushback automatically and many times leaving the aircraft with no room for maneuvers in some airports.
Let the user make the pushback decisions please!
It’s rough for small airplanes/airports.
The sim is so airline focused we still have to go through that song and dance no matter the airplane and airport.
It’s an amazing addon. But it won’t help Xbox users, or PC users that think community content is a path to CTDs. I say that as a PC user with the addon.
I’d really love an external walk around mode, fueling, checklist with pushback options.
Those might sound like crazy wishes. But compared to many game titles, it’s really kind of a nothing of an ask these days. Many simmers probably aren’t away of how detailed some modern game titles can get. This is where MSFS fails a bit.
Would be a pain for some of the airplane devs. But I’m sure the good ones would embrace.
Shift + P +1 to the left and Shift + P + 2 to the right, but it only worked at the beggining of the pushback, same to say that it was not accurate.
As a solely GA flyer I would like to have the ability to “dismiss” the push back option altogether and remove that very annoying guy on his electric cart from my life forever. I very rarely see the option for push back for my tail dragger anyway. For me if, as does happen quite often, the aircraft spawns facing a building, fence line or other obstacle about 6 feet in front of the nose, I just slew the aircraft through 180 before I start.
Poor electric cart guy what did he ever do to you ![]()
I have to keep cleaning his internal organs from my prop - so it’s for his benefit as well ![]()
Yeah the simulator is missing ramp agent operations. Be nice if everything was timed. And you had a pushed back time. So you had the aircraft ready and the ramp agents would call to the flight deck and gave count down to push back. When the time came they would say release brakes and position the plane for the best taxi to the runway. Instead of having to micro manage push back.
Please please please improve the default pushback. Pilots flying on VATsim can’t use the in game ATC. You need to be able to plan and pushback facing in the correct direction. The addons to address this issue have issues of their own. It would be great if the default functionality in the sim was better.
I found a way to pushback much faster.
First thing you wanna do is go to the Assistance Option > User Experience > ATC voices > OFF
Second, assign a couple of Keys (Keyboard, Controller, etc.) to the ATC Panel Choices. Here you have 10 options to set (ATC Panel Choice 0-9).
I normally do something like this (note that these are example keybindings, please adjust them as you like)
ATC panel choice 0 > CTRL + NumPad0
ATC panel choice 1 > CTRL + NumPad1
ATC panel choice 2 > CTRL + NumPad2
ATC panel choice 3 > CTRL + NumPad3
..and so on.
Now when you want to pushback, you only need to press the assigned keys and you get almost instant feedback in which direction you want the tug to move the A/C.
I don’t even need to have the ATC panel visible to do that. There are literally 4 commands (key assignments) that you need to memorize. Just pretend that you are a real pilot and these are your “Memory Items”.
The only downside I see here is that if you want to hear the ATC voice, this is not an option for you.
Cheers.
And a must have for 2024, hopefully a refresh of all our ground vehicles and their functions/models. especially pushback tugs.
just a simple steering the tug with arrow keys when using pushback combo. Nothing fancy. After ending pushback the animation can go on. But ending up on the taxi line it brings much more reality.
What bothers me with msfs, since the beginning of everything (fs9,fsx,2020..) is the lack of proper pushback. Do you guys ever think that we could get a simple pushback tool so it just pushes the aircraft to taxi line with the desired direction?
I believe we dont neet complex tools for that and it should be standart in the sim…
Agreed. I just hope it’s improved in 2024. Toolbar pushback could have been a great partner, but I guess now they are working with Aerosoft, this won’t happen.
The other problem is compatibility with 3rd party planes. Some play nice, others don’t. It’s a tough one!
Will an improved pushback tool include pushing back into a parking spot? Asking for someone who flies Cherokees and Cessnas.
Not aware of any that can do that, sorry. ![]()
Yeah, the use cases on that were not well thought-out (probably just a legacy from FSX, anyway).
You want immersion and realism for GA, this is a pretty big one ‘cuz we rarely park nose-in. In light and even mid-sized aircraft, we often park tail-in within a row of other aircraft, with other aircraft “zippered” in, facing nose-out in the other direction (imagine all the horizontal stabilizers lining up, but alternating nose direction). Unless the taxi lane width is prohibitive, most of the time we start the engine in the parking spot and simply taxi forward and turn into the taxi lane. But when we arrive, more often as not the parking spots behind ours are filled with planes (again, pointed the other direction), so we have to stop the engine in the taxi lane, just beyond our parking spot, get out, hook the tow bar up, and push it back while turning into the parking spot.
Even on the periphery of a ramp, it’s usually tail-in. The point is the sim doesn’t do that at all unless someone has fixed it in third-party (or World Hub, but you still are going to have a hard time getting it into that spot.
It really needs to be addressed - the SDK and AI don’t even know how to accommodate instances like this, which are fairly ubiquitous on “GA” ramps in the US (not sure about rest-of-world).
Examples:
In the following picture you can actually see someone pushing the Cessna back into its spot - exactly as I described!
Here some bizjets get into the fray - also note the nose-in parking on the periphery of the ramp
