when launching the sim each time, a beautiful brief of what each world update has included, is presented to us by slides. giving a taste of the on-going sim growing content, while waiting for the sim to load to the main menu.
however, & aside from the fact that this is a small detail, that is not related to the sim behavior or features, but these loading slides have an issue, if were addressed, the more beauty being added.
the time between each slide being presented is only 1-2 seconds, how the simmer is supposed to read the 3 details in each slide just in 1-2 seconds? if the timing was addressed, it will give a comfortable reading. specially for those that uses the sim itself to get all the details related to updates.
recommended timing: 5 seconds between each slide as a minimum, 7 as max.
if every category detail in each slide was shown by an effect, it will be more pretty than the standard display with no effect by presenting the entire slide all at once.
even these being very small details, but if they were addressed in a future update, it will add more beauty to the launch sector of the sim.
Asobo already addressed the loading times, to make them much shorter as possible, the checking for updates time too.
the suggestion of the slides is just an aspect of beauty only.
& loading times while already have been improved, the sim will still have a certain amount of loading time, so having a good background with comfortable reading is better than having a blank background, while still waiting for the sim to load.
Well as it so happens our friends at //42 have been thinking the same thoughts. Payware, yes…but given the amount of time I spend staring MSFS loading screens, worth every cent! I picked it up day of release (something I would usually never do) and been enjoying it as a refreshing change with several nice little extras including suppression of the dreaded connection -lost message.
for the handcrafted airports of course, other content have dedicated menus inside the sim. & even the airports can be shown by map inside the sim in the marketplace.
Certainly new - only been out a few days. I saw a review on FSElite. Usually //42 make an official release post here in the forum’s for their products, but haven’t yet for Stripr afaik.
Not sure if they intend to bring it to the Marketplace - it can take a long time to get approval. I like the convenience of the MP, but I’ve come to realise there are significant downsides to it: there is always a lag in product updates and critical files are encrypted as an anti-piracy measure which can prevent you modding eg correcting an incorrect taxiway sign or tweaking aspects of an aircraft such as what ground services it receives. It’s strange, because if you buy direct or via another marketplace like Orbx, then the same files are usually not encrypted. But anyway - a discussion for another thread.
