*In Development - Seeking Staff/Administrative Positions* United States Virtual Air Force

Join the United States Virtual Air Force (USVAF) - Shaping the Future of Virtual Military Aviation! (PC Only)

Are you a passionate PC-based flight sim enthusiast with a love for military aviation? Do you dream of flying challenging missions, coordinating with fellow pilots, and experiencing the thrill of realistic military operations? Then the United States Virtual Air Force (USVAF) is looking for YOU!

We’re building a realistic and immersive virtual military aviation experience from the ground up. Currently in the development phase, we’re laying the foundation for an virtual air force based on the USAF. This means we’re not quite operational yet (expecting to launch in about a month), but it also means you have the opportunity to be a part of something special from the very beginning!

What USVAF Offers:

  • Dedicated VAM and ACARS System: Our Virtual Airline Management (VAM) and Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) are already in place, and we’re actively fine-tuning and customizing them for optimal performance and realism.
  • Realistic Procedures and Documentation: We’re committed to creating a structured and immersive, yet enjoyable, environment. A comprehensive set of documents and procedures is under development, with more planned.
  • Focus on Teamwork and Camaraderie: We believe that the best virtual experiences are shared experiences. We’re building a community where pilots can connect, learn from each other, and fly together.
  • Future IVAO Partnership: Our long-term goal is to become an officially recognized Special Operation Group within IVAO. This will unlock incredible opportunities for realistic military operations, including air-to-air refueling, MOA operations, and interaction with live ATC. This requires a solid foundation within USVAF, and we’re dedicated to achieving that.
  • A Realistic and Extensive Fleet: We intend on having a realistic fleet based on the USAF. This includes, but is not limited to, F-22s, F-16s, F-15s, A-10s, HH-60s, V-22s, C-130s, KC-135s, KC-46s, C-17s, B-1s, and B-52s.

We’re Looking for Dedicated Staff:

We’re currently seeking motivated individuals to fill key staff positions, including:

  • MAJCOM Commanders (AMC, ACC, AETC): If you have leadership experience and a passion for managing and training virtual pilots, we need you! Lower staff positions, such as Wing Commanders and Squadron Leaders may be available, however due to the early stage of development, these may be filled at a later date.
  • Other Administrative Positions: Depending on your skills and experience, other administrative roles may be available. We’re open to discussing how you can contribute to the USVAF.

What USVAF Expects:

  • Patience and Dedication: USVAF is in development, and while we’re working diligently towards our launch, we require individuals who understand this process and are willing to contribute and wait for our official launch. Currently, the development team is small, making your contributions even more significant. Don’t let this early stage deter you – your contributions will be instrumental in shaping the future of USVAF!
  • Collaborative Spirit: We’re building this together. Your input and ideas are valuable.
  • Genuine Interest in Military Aviation: A passion for military flight is essential. While extensive prior knowledge is not strictly required, it is certainly a plus.

How to Apply:

If you’re interested in joining and helping shape USVAF, please apply here. Include a bit about yourself, your flight sim experience, what you’re looking for in a virtual military air force, and what you can bring to USVAF.

Please DO ask questions!

Join us and help shape the future of virtual military aviation!

I look forward to hearing from you!

We are still looking to fill administrative positions! A fully custom built website from scratch has already been made, and is under good progress. A fully custom ACARS will follow suit. Join in!

I could do Staff/Admin. Duties.

Hello.

I would like to join. I’m on Xbox X. Don’t have discord.

Thank you.

I like the idea of a virtual Airforce. No mention of which sim it is using, what qualifications the pilot instructors have, required commitment, age group (as an older simmer id rather not have screaming kids in my ear).
Also PC only makes it seem un equal to others from other formats who are just as capable of flying as pc players.

Hello Batterby76! Thanks for the comment/concern. I will try my best to answer each in one reply.

As of right now, I only have experience and knowledge of how to use/code for MSFS2020 and 2024. I have done a lot, to say the least, of research on how other sims works, but without another pilot who is using said sims… it would be quite hard for me to even test or see how the connections are made between programs and flight sims. With that being said, it is 100% in the playbook to ensure we can work with other flight sims like XPlane. As far as I am aware, making those connections is actually easier with XPlane, but again… I have no way of testing that as of right now.

For pilot instructors, and other higher command positions, qualifications can vary but are definitely existing. I prefer to communicate one and one on such topics to get a better understanding on a person, however, your comment has made me realize I should at least cover a basic “requirements” list. I will definitely update the post with such, probably today. For now, I would say general qualifications that I would immediately be looking for are; flight theory/ideology, knowledge in realistic USAF procedures, instructional ability, etc. Again, I do prefer to speak one on one to get a better understanding of both yours and ours needs/wants.

As for required commitment, this is something I would like to speak to as a group with other potential command. It is my thought that requirements at the start should be relaxed. If it is in the groups interest to become partnered with any flight sim network, there would need to be more than a few rules and requirements met on our end to make that happen. Starting off with a bunch of requirements and rules is typically not a great way to recruit pilots, in my understanding. It was my thought that building a foundation of a community first and then taking it to a network would be best. Again, this is just my thought, and I would be more than happy to take ideas from others who participate.

As for age group, I 100% agree, and this is something it appears I forgot to mention in the original post. I started this project early 2025, and due to personal issues, and having to move states, as well as a unexpected set of events, everything was paused. I am currently revamping everything, and that will include this post. I am in favor of being 18+, or potentially 16-17+. This is another one of those things where I dont mind, I would prefer to have a census from those who are participating. Its also important to note, that if this group were to become partnered with a network in the future, it may be out of our hands to do a age requirement, but I could be incorrect.

And lastly, about platforms. I am actually in favor of allowing console members to join. I have already established this could be possible with manual PIREPs. The downside to this, is staff or instructors being able to directly view and track flight and flight parameters, as obviously a manual PIREP would not track such. And of course, console simmers would not be able to fly on any partnered networks. Nevertheless, I am in favor of allowing console members to join. At one point I considered having some sort of system allowing more casual pilots to join, and also having another “branch”, for lack of a better word, to separate casual pilots from dedicated pilots.

Thanks for your comment!

Hi Rich! I would like to have you aboard, however, the needs of the VO at the moment would require you to be on PC as of right now. No worries though, when everything is set in place, you are more than welcome to join on XBOX. I apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for your comment!

Hello. Thank you. FYI. I have been using Sims since FS98. Including Combat Sims!
