In Sim Aircraft

Correct me if I’m wrong but if I own an aircraft in my hanger and I fly that aircraft and I see the same aircraft in sim that others are flying say the Vulcan I see other Vulcans.
Now if I fly a Typhoon and I own the Vulcan why in the sim do I see an airliner and not the Vulcan. I know the sim generates strange aircraft if you don’t own them but if I want to escort a Vulcan it looks like an airliner which is to say the least immersion breaking.
I thought that if I owned a particular aircraft, I would see others flying that particular aircraft in sim even if I’m not flying that aircraft.

I fly on a Xbox X

What you are referring to is called “model matching” which MSFS can struggle with. For better results, I use the following settings;

Options → General Options → Traffic

Scroll down to “AI AND MULTIPLAYER TRAFFIC DETAIL”

Here are my settings, but keep in mind I’m on PC and use AIG for model matching so your mileage may vary.

To add to skypilot’s response: Even though you own the Vulcan, if someone is flying with a livery you do not have in your community folder, it will not show as a Vulcan at all. I hope that in a future update, it can at least fall back to the default livery of the addon you own so that you don’t have to install every single livery just to see others correctly.

I thought “ Community Folder “ is a PC thing not Xbox. :+1::crazy_face:
