In VR, mouse pointer looses focus and becomes unusable

Had a great first flight in the new sim today. One observation:

Repeatedly, the 3D mouse pointer in VR lost focus. It did not interact with the controls anymore, and whenever it was at dashboard distance, I actually saw 2 cursors, about 3 cm apart from each other.

Leaving VR and getting back into VR solved the problem, but later it happened again.
Any ideas what causes this, and is there a remedy?

Yep, same here

Im using a Quest 3 and to solve this issue I pick up one of the VR hand controllers, hold it towards the cockpit instruments (highlight a button) then put the controller back down. The mouse usually starts behaving after that.

Interesting workaround.
Unfortunately, I do not have VR controllers…

Same issue in the Q3 - ill try the controller trick to see if that helps. Edit: Controller trick didn’t help.

I experienced this too now and my guess is that it is aircraft related as i didn“t had this problem (beside the dozens of other problems) in the first days with FS24 while only testing with the DeHaviland Beaver. Today i tried the Pilatus PC 6 and it was a complete unusable mess.
i am able to get back the control of the mouse for some seconds by turning on the 2D monitor or wildly ALT-Tabbing.
insert an insult of your choice to the developers here if you want

I’m having the same problem. The sim is almost unusable in VR since half of the time it’s impossible to interact with the controls and half of the time, you just get a headache from seing two mouse pointers at the same time.

Happens to me when ive made some changes to settings, esc to menu and resume sorts it, sometimes take more than once though

Still hapening. Tried many solutions, some limited success, but then comes along the same issue. The mouse pointer either disappears, or will not hover over knobs and such.. Maybe I have something set up wrong, but a hint?

I moved back to FS2020. It’s an excellent sim, and works very well in VR.

Let Asobo /Ms sort out the mess they created with FS2924. Iā€˜ll gladly start using the new sim the moment it becomes stable and usable in VR. Let’s see what SU2 and 3 bring…

related to disappearing mouse pointer: when it happens to me (at the moment with Beta 2 or other VR titles) itĀ“s caused if the program doesnĀ“t run in fullscreen and the mouse is moved ā€œout of the windowā€ or when a Windows Notification pops up. Both results in loss of the VR titles focus.

Yes, that indeed can happen. Thatā€˜s why - since the early days of FS2020 - I made it a habit to always go full screen before switching into VR!
