It’s as if the developers went to ChatGPT and asked to add a career mode to msfs-2020. Everything feels just a little too off or hit-or-miss. The dialogue, mission scenarios, graphics, flight characteristics, liveries, career progression, traffic… It’s all “close but not quite,” the realism is there in some parts but other aspects are slightly off or blatantly wrong.
I get that some of this is due to server loading and the decision to stream most aspects of the game. I think it has a lot of potential and I’m excited for it, but it’s not there yet. It feels like a good concept but lazily executed.
These are the pictures that made me think the entire game is an AI-generated fever dream. They’re from the C208 used in medevac missions.
I have a personal theory that Asobo outsourced the entire career mode. As a software developer myself on enterprise level software for over 15 years, there is simply no way either the bugs or design make it past a normal development pipeline. Yea, some bad bugs or design decisions can make it past, but NOTHING like this. Nothing even close.
The text in the first picture can be interpreted as if the developers are ridiculing their playerbase… if you continue the sentence „this effect seems to be very true for flight simulation“.
Somehow it fits in with the picture of MS screwing over the playerbase and not taking us seriously with this whole release.
Hi @shanescoobydoo ,
I’ve moved your topic into Aircraft & Systems as this definitely does not look right.
Now that this is in the Bug Reporting Hub , you can vote if you experience the same issue.
(Original topic title was How involved was AI in generating the game?)
We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged
To me it looks like a bet among the developers. Sort of: How many days does it take for someone to discover that tiny stuff and post about it?
So I would bet somebody at Microsoft just won a case of beer. Cheers!
C208 in 2020 had inappropriate text on it for entire duration of the sim, and still does, in the shape of the ice shattering horn. They decided it was a willnotfix for the 2020 text, so I am not holding my breath for this one.
I think it was more inappropriate. And not necessarily the text itself, more the fact that the developer responsible for it and contracted by MS for developing this aircraft thought it was a good idea to incorporate this in the livery in the first place. It’s just unprofessional
