Inbound procedure London City Airport

Hello,
can someone give me the correct inbound procedure for the London City Airport. I am always too high because of the buildings using the ILS , then it takes me down too fast, speed is accelarating and i hit the ground too hard.
Thanks in advance for some answer.

Does this help?

Moved to General Discussion.

Get fully configured and on speed before GS intercept. That is one of, if not the steepest glide slope angles for an ILS approach in the world. It’s twice the angle of a normal approach. Here is a video I did on that approach about a year ago.

London City EGLC has a really steep approach - 5.5deg vs 3.0 deg for normal airports so you have to be ready to descend at almost twice your normal rate.

It took me a lot of practise to even get close because it felt so odd.

I try to come in as low as I can over the city with full flaps and gear before the glideslope and dang near stall speed. When you start down that slope, you almost certainly will gain speed unless you’re in a plane with massive barn-door flaps.

Thats exactly what i mean. The Citation Longitude has a problem with this steep gs. If you are too slow, stall, stall…

Not all planes are well-suited to operate from there. I seem to remember that some planes actually received updates to their autopilot code specifically to deal with that 5.5° GS.

That’s correct, many planes cannot land there because of the steep approach. The A320 for example is not approved to land there.

For the procedures in general you should check out Navigraph, it’s superb.
