InBuilds A340 Discussion

Hmm. I might “purchase” the free livery packs right away while I decide whether or not to purchase the actual aircraft. Then hopefully they’ll appear if I do go ahead, as they’ll be in my library.

Anyone else seeing impact on FPS in the range of 10-20% decrease? I wind up with ~50FPS compared to my usual 60 fps. But still absolutely playable.

I see it in the external view, a strange drop in Fps. In the cockpit the Fps is very good most of the time.

Are the livery packs the same as what’s available on PC through the inibuilds manager?

Why would they need to be free only for the first week? If they can do it for the first week, they can make liveries freely accessible for console players on a longer term basis.

There are quite a few liveries. The South African one is a bit gorgeous. I wish more liveries would be this colourful. Personally I feel the straight up and down ones belong on legend craft. The sky would certainly be more picturesque with creative colouring!

I’m a bit worried about performance for this one. The A350 is not enjoyable on my old RTX 3080 so I wonder if the A340 behaves the same or if there is a huge difference? Is there something you can compare it to? Is it slower than the default A320 Neo or the A321LR for example?

A340 & WINGWING MCDU AND AUTOPILOT PANEL

Guys maybe many have already touched this topi. Is there a way to use the 2 component with the brand new plane?

Well, since I’m in the MSFS 24 beta, there might be some interference because of this, so it’s hard to say exactly what the FPS would be like in the stable version. But it seems somewhat similar to the A321LR, especially from the outside view—a bit heavy, but a far cry from the A350, which has terrible FPS. There’s also a passenger cabin, which causes a FPS drop, especially if you look at it from the cockpit. Of course, if you have a more powerful PC, you won’t notice much of a difference. As for the cockpit, as long as you don’t look back, the experience is very good, especially if you don’t care much about the outside view. It would be interesting to know how this works for those on the stable version of MSFS 24.

That’s a pretty good summary… I’d say the PMDG 777’s have been better optimised but this performs well - the default 320/321 comparable - it’s an absolute joy compared to the 350… I’m not interested in the pax cabins so no issue for me…

I’m very interested in purchasing the iniBuilds A340, but I’m quite concerned about potential WASM crash issues. Has anyone experienced cockpit freezing due to a WASM crash?

For an aircraft that has some performance issues with heavy takeoffs supposedly, im not seeing it. On takeoff it climbs off the runway like a homesick angel. No struggle at all…surprised actually. Performance wise it was better than a lightly loaded A350!

I’ve found the takeoff is no problem, it’s the climb that is a marathon.

The free liveries are super tempting, if I can get some comfort that this will be career mode when Asobo sort out the heavy cert stuff I’ll purchase this immediately

The liveries are only free for 1 week someone said above.

If I remember correctly, that is probably normal behaviour.
The A340 is no faster or better climber than the 330’s, it just has four engines.

Is the a340 a fully new developed addon or is it derived from the a330 iniBuilds provided for free? I wasn’t a fan of the Cockpit textures, I wonder if it’s better now.

Looking to pick this up. I have the A350 and run SU3 and VR is currently broken. Can anyone confirm if the A340 VR cockpit is working in VR SU3?

Oh yes, the gradual climb is certainly to be expected. If it climbed quickly I’d be concerned.

That’s really of note to Xbox users only. PC users can get them for free in the iniBuilds manager if they want. At least I think all of them are there….

But if you’re on Xbox, grab them while you can….
