Robin D400 gives aviator deductions for putting flaps down while taxiing (“flap speed limit exceeded”) and “overflying airport without notifying” with no airports nearby.
Yes
Frequency: every mission in D400. Sometimes the overflying airport bug happens in other planes
Career mode mission in D400. Put flaps down while taxiing to runway/holding short.
For the overflying airport bug i got it just flying around on the Mr Cousin needs his aircraft delivered to vigny mission.
More on aviator deductions. you will get deducted for trying to turn around on the runway and running out of space. this is particularly bad in aircraft such as the Bonanza G36 which doesnt turn well. You can see here there are no available taxiways for me to take, and I have to try turn around on this narrow runway, which is not possible, so I have no choice but to go on the grass, which doesn’t count as the runway, and you get penalised for this.
Mine is aircraft exclusive to the beech and the robin (so far). That way it’s a lot less broad and easier to fix, rather than just saying “this whole thing is broken, fix it”
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes.
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• “Overflowing an airport without checking in” error message while no airport is in vicinity at all.
• If you drift down the runway, either by imprecise landing or while doing a turnaround, “Aviator performance: entering taxiway without permission” error message pops up. After this, it’s also not possible to ask for taxi clearance, so the “Taxiing without clearance” error message ALSO pops up.
If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Taxi and FL100 Speed: In real life you don’t get a ticket the second you go over speed. There should be a certain rng and contact from control or whichever authority is having issues with the speed and not for 1kt over. If you don’t go in an rewrite the whole FLP to replace the 250 speeds with something lower, the sim’s VNAV will get u hammered for this on both ends of the flight.
Prohibited Airspace: This just isn’t working right. If I have clearance, I should not be violating airspace. This may be having issues with high altitude landings like Argentina and Mexico(?)
Missed ATC: On long flights I’m getting dinged for this when there is no notice.
Flaps Overspeed: Broken on many planes (like the bonanza or beaver) and encourages not using flaps at all as it triggers stopped on the ground.
This is a bug multiplier for the inconsistent reputation system.
Okay this “overflying the airport” craziness must stop, it has to be removed from the game. It keeps popping up CONTINUOUSLY on my current mission. It’s just utterly stupid. Not only the game doesn’t tell you anything about it (you have to open the ATC menu and announce overflying every single airport that’s in your flightpath), it completely ruins the missions. Seriously what is wrong with you developers?
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• It is not reproducible. Sometimes I will get 7 “overflying airport” penalizations, sometimes not.
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• I am also getting overflying airport where is no airport.
I am also getting overflying airport where there is no airport and no ATC option to announce anything anyway. 5 times in 10 minutes…
When I finally arrived at some airport (LGEL), I saw F16s parked next to Cessnas, I saw parked aircraft without wheels hovering 3 feet in the air, I saw parked aircraft with wheels hovering 5 feet above ground, I saw taxiway arrows which made zero sense (as in the parking spot is 100m to my left at an empty GA parking, yet the arrows drove me 1km around the airport and into backtracking the active runway to get to the same parking spot)…
Has anyone from Asobo actually tested this thing before they released it? This is disheartening.
We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged
A recent flight I did helped shed some light on the “Overflying airport” penalties and it is misleading because it’s not really that you are overflying any airport it’s whenever you fly into a Delta, Charlie or Bravo airspace linked to an airport and the boundaries of these airspaces can be far away from any airport which is why you don’t see any below you on the map. This is actually accurate because from this web page, VFR flights only need to report in for Delta airspaces and above: Classification of Airspace | SKYbrary Aviation Safety . On my flight I took off from Bremen (EDDW) surrounded by Delta airspace and flew past Hamburg airport (EDDH) surrounded by Charlie and Delta airspaces:
The reason you might see multiple warnings in quick succession is that you get a warning for every B/C/D airspace boundary you cross even if they are related to the same airport and regardless of whether you are flying towards or away from the airport. So for Hamburg airport alone, I crossed eight boundaries and got eight warnings. This is a bit stupid and you should only get it once per airport really. But thankfully it seems you only have to report to the airport once for them not to trigger, not everytime you cross a boundary for that airport. Make sure to report before crossing the first boundary.
The EFB map does show airspaces but it’s not always easy to tell if it’s a B/C/D linked to an airport; you might want to have the MSFS flight planner or Navigraph open to give more info. But they only surround the blue airport symbols and usually have the rounded ends. So you don’t have to report every airport at all, in fact you can ignore all of the red ones.
One other issue I had was when departing from Bremen, the departure controller approved frquency change (this was a VFR flight) before I left his Delta airspace and that immediately gave me a penalty before I had a chance to call him back up and report overflying. This doesn’t make any sense and is a bug that I will file separtely once I capture some screenshots of it happening. I then flew into the outer Delta airspace of Bremen and got a second penalty (although I guess there was a bit of time before this one in which I could have reported overflying, had I known what was going on).
EDIT: I have now created this Bug report here: Departure frequency change approved too early leading to immediate "Overflying airport without announcement" penalty
It appears there can be Delta airspaces not linked to airports but it seems that you don’t need to report to anyone in these cases
Anyway, I hope this explanation helps others to reduce their penalties!
I happily followed the blue rectangles right into the Denver Bravo and never heard a peep about busting the airspace, which I didn’t realize until now is what they mean by “overflying the airport”?
