Incorrect runway designations (again!) at BER (EDDB) in MSFS 2020

Hey Girls and Guys,

since I couldn’t find a current post online, I’m posting here in the forum. Sorry if I missed the topic. I have the following problem in MSFS 2020. Last year, the runways on the EDDB were renamed: 25L/R = 24L/R, 07L/R = 06L/R. I use the EDDB-add-on from LimeSim / Aerosoft. The new names were adapted relatively quickly in the add-on and in MSFS 2020, and everything is fine! But for the past two or three weeks (even after various updates), the old designations have been used again. This is problematic for me because the new designations are used for flight plans and Beyond ATC, which then no longer work in MSFS 2020. The same add-on works in MSFS 2024! Has anyone else experienced the same problem recently? I still enjoy flying in MSFS 2020 from time to time, and BER (EDDB) is my home airport. It’s annoying that I can no longer use it in MSFS 2020, especially with flight plans from Navigraph and Beyond-ATC. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks and greetings from Berlin!
Marki

Hi there @MarkiMarkBln,

Thank you for your report! Your topic has been moved to User Support Hub > Scenery & Airports. The purpose of the Bug Reporting Hub category is to discuss issues that affect the base simulator. If you are having issues with a 3rd party product, please be sure to file a bug report via the developer’s preferred support method.

You can also check out the Discussion Hub > General Discussion sub-categories to see if others have your 3rd party issue to help troubleshoot.

If you believe your issue may be caused by a third-party addon/mod, empty your community folder, restart the simulator and try to reproduce the error.

All issues caused by, or involving third-party addons/mods should be reported to the third-party developer. All issues related to the core simulator can be reported here on the forum or reported through Zendesk.

Seems the correct runways are listed:

Could you restart your sim and make sure you are not running any addons ?
Also when starting FS2020 today it downloaded some new files, seems to be airac related.

…Unfortunately, for me it looks like this…

Have you tested with your community folder empty and if any all marketplace addons disabled ?

I deactivated the community folder, with the same result. I find it strange, because it’s been working for quite some time. Where is the downgrade coming from? I have version 1.38.2.0. Is it up to date? I’m now reinstalling the uninstalled EDDB scenery from LIMESIM. And if it still doesn’t work, I don’t know what to do next… But thanks for the tip!

No idea at that point. It would be interesting to get feedback from others users to determine if it is a local issue with your installation or an issue that could impact various users. But since I cannot reproduce with my base FS2020 installation I would think it is a local one.

Yes, it is the latest live version: [Release] Aircraft & Avionics Update 3 Now Available

You might try to empty the Folder : C:\Users\Yor Name\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SceneryIndexes. The content of the folder will be rebuilt with the actual data, wenn you restart the Game.

ah, cool, thanks for the tip, I’ll try that and report back…

This is funny, I have no modification of the airport It is original as it is provided by MS. But the runways are like MARKiMarkBln has posted.

@MarkiMarkBln , @DerWolleX : are you under the Live version (1.38.2.0) or the SU16 one (1.39.6.0). I am under SU16 so wondering if something is different vs the Live one.

Edit: new beta version:
Continuing the discussion from Sim Update 16 Beta [1.39.8.0] Release Notes - July 15, 2025:

Yes, 1.38.2.0

done at least 10 times,
still wrong runway designations at EDDB v2.3.1
Live Version 1.38.2.0

The solution is just to wait for the next update (see Post from “DementedCorn327”

Addressed to Microsoft/Asobo,

Are you not able to provide reasonable AIRACAS (NavData) in a timely manner?
Already on 03.10.2024 the runway designations for EDDB were changed from 07L/25R or 07R/25L
to -->> 06L/24R or 06R/24L <<–all
Inmy setup, simulator MSFS2020, 1.38.2.0, Live version, the wrong runway designations are still used in EDDB - Berlin-Brandenburg Ver.2.3.1. What an indictment.
Are you so busy and overwhelmed with the development of 2024?
What you can read in the forums about this; thank you very much.
It’s out of the question for me.
Why are we launching a new product, in this case MSFS2024, when customers still have to wait months for updates to the previous product?
I will never buy any product from the marketplace again. My decision.
The developers offer much faster and better service.

Finally bring the sim update 1.39.xxx with reasonable navigation data onto the market with equally reasonable download rates.

What kind of nonsense is that ?
That’s how you can scare users away.

For reference: the esteemed competitor had the scenery with new numbers approved in early February, released at the start of April with a major sim update

Peace out, guys! It’s really easy! Thanks for your help, problem solved: ChatGPT pointed me to the file “The Redfox BER Mod” on flightsim.to. I downloaded it, copied it to the community folder, started the sim, and everything worked fine again! YEAH! Peace out! :innocent:

Many thanks for the hint

Hi everyone, just for your information:

This issue occurred after updating EDDB from 2.3.0 to 2.3.1 from June 26, 2025. I opened a ticket with Aerosoft 14 days ago, but unfortunately, I haven’t received a response yet. I’ll get back to you as soon as I have more information.
