Ini Builds Kefalonia LGKF

Dunno if the problem is this is only with Kefalonia, or maybe other scenery too.
Inibuilds have changed the way you download scenery.

Earlier, before 2024 was even launched, I downloaded the inibuilds zip file for my local Leeds Bradford Airport as it was on haloween sale and just kept it in downloads until 2024 launched.
Then manually installed it in the community folder where it is working well.

Last night I thought to buy inibuilds Kefalonia and it appears things have changed. They are now using an “installer” for 2024, not allowing dwnload of the zip file for manual installation.

In my view, this is a backward step. However, to make it worse, the installer has the file path on show and it does not match the particular file path for the community folder on my machine. It does not even match the general portion of the file path on everyones machine. Even worse, you cannot change it.

So you cannot install your new airport.

Even worse than that, it appears that according to the installer, I do not have FS2024 installed on my PC. Strange because I have over 60 hrs in it.

Yes I clicked windows PC.
Yes I clicked FS2024.
Yes it says it is 2024 compatible.
Yes I pressed install and got a spinning gearwheel.
Yes I checked in downloads for a RAR file or Zip file.
All that has been downloaded is the useless “installer”.

This is the second “installer” in a few days that has prevented me from buying and using stuff. First being the Blacksquare turbo duke. Again, no RAR or zip file, just an installer that refused to install.
I was aware that there were problems with some duke instrument readings being slightly out when used in 2024, but in general, it worked fine. I was prepared to give it a try on my own responsibility.
In that case, Just Flight handled it impeccably and gave an instant refund and I will return to that later when the problems have been ironed out.

I wish devs would stop trying to " simplify" stuff and completely screw it up. How hard is it to unzip a file and copy paste it into another?

I await supports response…

OK now installed. I went to the inibuilds manager. Looked at the fs2024 installation file path in the manager.
Clicked on that and it opened a file folder that contained leeds bradford in addition to the leeds bradford contained within downloads.
Made a new folder, directed it to the folder and clicked install.

It downloaded the file into that folder, renamed as kefalonia.

I then opened my community folder and dragged the new file across into there.

Restart game and it is showing as installed.

A far cry from the expected to press install and it automatically puts it in your community folder for you.

It was a lot easier to just look in downloads, open a file and drag it across, rather than being directed to some file, in a dusty corner of the PC that you could probably never find again if you tried.

progress…

I doubt I will use inibuilds again if you have to go through this rigmarole everytime.

Hi there,
Apologies for the inconvenience this has caused! This however sounds like the iniManager not using the correct community folder path for FS2024. Please refer to this article on how to find what community folder the simulator is using: https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/17046732768796-3rd-party-add-ons-and-Community-folder

Please verify the path there matches the one on the iniManager, if not, use the “…” button and manually navigate to the same exact folder. If that is all sorted, it should be the intended one-click install like it always has been.
Thank you!
