Skipping over the FMC, I dial in a VOR and an ILS frequency on the spot on the center pedestal. Works fine.
As I approach the airport’s VOR I change over to tracking the ILS. That works fine. But if I change back to check the VOR beacon I have lost the VOR frequency. I always have to quickly dial it back in. I clearly don’t understand something here because I also see no way to input VOR2.
The system reverts back to the VOR where my plane originated from. Or maybe the nearest VOR to that location?
Anyway, this switching back and forth between VOR and ILS always necessitates re-entering the destination VOR. The FMC shows that ‘default’ VOR so it is somehow coded into the plane’s system. I don’t know how that happens.
Just seems odd to me, something I haven’t encountered with the Cessna Citation in MS2020/2024.
Any thoughts??
