Inibuilds P-40F

Well, this was a purchase that will probably stay in the hangar for the foreseeable future. External texturing is probably the best, sounds being second.

i found how to set military:) but no found external lights and not found any prop effects lol

Lights are on the front panel, main switches - Landing Light and Running Signal. Thereā€™s also a bi-directional switch to illuminate the fuel gauges on the floor there too.
The manual is in /Resources/Documentation folder

Overall I like it.
Ground handling is good, it flies well.
Sound is great and visuals are also nice.
You can fly it with open canopy, which is always great (I donā€™t use the MSFS damage modelling, so no idea if that works with it turned on)
The circuit breakers are not working.
Itā€™s a bit FPS heavy.

Overall IMO not in the same top end of the Flying Iron warbirds, but not far behind :+1:

The way the circuit breakers work IRL is when you flip the switch (or a circuit breaks) it breaks a physical copper wire and only the ground crew can replace it.
It is not a toggle switch on and off - the on and off are indicators for the pilot.

For now, we have not enabled this realistic scenario as if someone in-sim flips the switch in-cockpit they would have to land immediately and that would be an inconvenience obviously.

Roger that.

Ells, developers like Flying Iron and Azurpoly have a simple Autopilot in their tablets for similar aircraft.
While this may sound weird, it is very useful, as MSFS does not have a well working pause function and this way you can wing level the aircraft and ALT hold while answering the door or making a tea

Also, I dunno how others use warbirds and military trainers, but I use them for regular flying as they are far more interesting than the usual GA piston aircraft. And faster !
So having a HDG and FLC mode is quite welcome in the Flying Iron and Azurpoly aircraft.

I can easily mod this myself to work with keybindings, but the Xbox guys cannot.

Just a hintā€¦

Do we know when / if this beauty is heading to XBox?

Active Pause does have a lot of weird issues but you can get around that by using the SET PAUSE ON and SET PAUSE OFF key bindings which I think are unbound by default. The set pause commands actually do properly pause your plane, so no gaining or losing speed suddenly when you unpause the game. The outside world still carries on as normal but your plane is properly paused with these commands. Iā€™ve been using set pause instead of Active pause for well over a year now without any problems.

Not bought this bird yet as I already have the Big Radials P-40B/Tomahawk II and am quite happy with it but a Merlin powered Kittyhawk does appeal to me.

You can also use the in-sim flight Assistant. Itā€™s fully functional so you can even get it to fly you to airports if you need to take a break or just straight and level.

nah that one flies you straight into the next mountain
weā€™ve been there and that is why the other devs include it in their tablet

hi, read manual before, word light there only once or twice, and nothing about nav lights beacon or even running signalā€¦ btw i didnā€™t found in the web ā€œrunning signalā€ p-40:) is it something fictional? what it does? i seen that and even switch that, probably accidently or by bug same time i switch running signal engine has been killed. fuel valve was on the reserve. so probably there was just a bit, and same time i switch running signal > engine stop. still in curious how to set prop effects, i check settings all dependency ā€œhardā€, so probably some clickspot can change model inside? and how to turn on nav lights green&red?
thank you

Not a massive warbird buyer for FS2020 (I have DCS) but this seems a great price and quite tempted.

I already have the Milviz Corsair which I found pretty good. I know this costs a lot more than the P40 but can anyone give me an idea if the P40 is roughly at about the same development fidelity as the Corsair? :slightly_smiling_face:

so far not even close. but this is first days, and only ini guys can say what in plans about improvementā€¦ corsair btw without fixes and with some bugs really long time. soon will 1y from last update. but milviz corsair for today is best bird for msfs in my feeling

Signal lights will turn on the wing nav lights.

@darshonaut Are you saying you have tested this in the P-40F, Iā€™ve not had it fly me into a mountain, it flies me to the airfield/airport and even lands if I want it to?

cool. thank youā€¦
p.s. will you improve prop effects? itā€™s for now feel like jet engine:)

sorry if missed it in this thread and manual
how do you open engine covers and I believe ammo tray
thanks

Come to think of it, for the main gunsight I get the base but no glass so obviously no illuminated crosshair. Not sure if this was intentional or not. Since the base of the gunsight partially blocks the VSI, I keep it set to civilian.

yes. but i see that as first days stuff. hope it will much much better. i stay with civilian too for now

@ContrivedTea675 I donā€™t understand what you mean, are you talking about the heat blur that dissipates as you fly but is more prominent on the ground?

not my turn lol
or mine. you just replay to wrong post. if yes, iā€™m talking about physical effects like p-factor, or torque or g-stability g-precession
