Love to hear these insights. It’s easy as a simmer who’s only ever been in a 152, 172 and Mooney M20J to make assumptions about how loud or quiet an aircraft should be in sim. I would have definitely assumed a 1930’s radial would just be super loud inside, but it’s cool to learn that it’s not always the case. Makes sense in a way as this aircraft was pretty much purpose-built to ferry oil executives around. They probably put extra effort into making it quiet.
I will say that iniBuilds has been responsive with me (about a 24-hour response time) and I’ve been sending them lots of videos and info about the issues and discrepancies I’m seeing. I know it’s not ever likely to be their money-making addon compared to their airliners, but I think with some tweaks it could really go a long way in building some customer confidence.
I was just doing some cruise testing earlier and my god, the engine sounds at cruise are so relaxing. Really good stuff. The sounds really do keep me coming back.

@Stardrifter2232 I had a quick go of the startup transitions. Will keep polishing as I have time before the next update, but I managed to “fake” the transition a bit between startup and fully running. Sounds a bit better, no?

Dropbox is throwing an error when trying to access that, unfortunately. Maybe a permission issue?
Hi guys it’s me again, local man who cannot shut up about the Spartan Executive
I wanted to share some settings that I think really help the Spartan feel better (maybe not more accurate, as I’ve never flown it, but more like other aircraft so a bit easier to handle)
This is with the Honeycomb Alpha which has a 180 degree (-90/+90) rotation, so on yokes that have less travel, lower settings may be ideal. I find this very comfortable thus far, gets the wild elevator shenanigans under control and gives a bit more life to the ailerons without going overboard.

May I ask how do you contact ini? I posted my feedback on their forum (in Feedback section) but no reaction so far.
I would like to make them aware of the issues I am seeing and want to use the most effective way of communication for that matter. Thanks
You can email them from the iniBuilds Manager, in the support section.

Yep, as mentioned, you can email them using the contact form and it creates a ticket. I probably got their attention by asking for a refund
but they’re working with me so I’m not actively pursuing said refund.

It is back in sales on fs.to
This is true for the MSFS 2020 version for both Modern as well as Classic cabin with GPS. In this respect, the MSFS 2024 works as it should (i.e. GNS can be switched from GPS to VLOC and the HSI reacts as intended).
Btw. I have just tried the ini version with the HCG engines and flight model configs and while this quick & dirty solution has its issues, it actually improved the handling & performance for me to the point that I finally enjoyed hand flying it (does not speed up like crazy when above 130 kts, speed reacts to the changes in MP, easily trimmable for climb, cruise & descent, roll rate feels fine, cruise attitude is OK…).
Few days ago I edited the avionics and made the RMI working as bearing indicators for NAV2 and ADF (which in MSFS 2024 can be tuned via the in-sim EFB). So if I am able to take what’s needed from the HCG configs without messing too much of other stuff, I am a happy camper.
Anyway, I will also send my feedback to ini via their iniManager as suggested and hope ini will address the issues at some point.

I have requested from Ini Builds a 1 hour film of them flight testing the plane. I asked for a long cruise using radio, compass and GPS navigation, so we can see that they work. To prove to us that the plane was flawless when they sent it out. I asked to see Landings and take offs and a description of their computer and set up. The throttles and yoke/ hotass , what ever they use besides their keybord to fly the Spartan,
Should be great if they do it

Fly it? First I have to reprogram the Shadin fuel compute!
I’m not even joking. Almost done improving it. I have a problem.
It seems like they really don’t want to refund. It’s been three days and five e-mails so far. Wanted a video, told them I’m not part of their QA-Team. They denied, that there are problems with it, since they never heard of them from testing. Didn’t acknowledged that there are mutliple support tickets on various items and asked for the forum link where the problems were discussed.
Coming soon… I’ve put about 12 hours into overhauling the Shadin MiniFlo L fuel computer in the modern cockpit version.
- Proper 7 segment displays with characters in fixed positions, not the weird non fixed-width hybrid 14 segment they were using (also, the new font is actually legally usable in commercial products!)
- Red letters, not orange, as Shadin intended!
– Faint background showing the LCD characters for more realism
- Formatted sim values so that everything fits in the display, no more cut off text
- Realistic test procedure based on a real unit (minus K-factor, as I have no idea what that would be in this aircraft)
- Fixed the broken Gal. Reserve mode to accurately display reserve fuel at destination.
What I can’t fix:
- The unit being modeled wrong in 3D. The left screen was incorrectly modeled smaller than the right screen. I asked them if they could fix that so I could make the font larger to fill the screens. We’ll see.
- The lack of emissive lighting on this unit. I have no idea how to do that and suspect it would require them to add a node for it in the 3D model
- The fact that you can turn the knob to 6 different positions when there are only 4… the last two knob turns do nothing, but I am not sure how to fix that but if I can figure out how, I’ll throw an easter egg into the extra knob turns

I need to add one or two final touches and deal with one error and I’ll see about putting the mod on flightsim.to, if allowed, or submit it to iniBuilds if not.

So have inibuilds just fired & forgot on this one? No patches no updates, no communication, no nothing! Just pay your money for a sub standard add-on in MSFS 2024!
Today the person I was emailing said they would send my request about the movie to the team. They would also show them our forum.
Meanwhile.. I do not trust any builder that puts out a plane that is less than perfect.
If it cost more to make it right then charge more. If you love your work your life will be better. You only have one life. So you are going to be remembered as that person who never did anything well. Always doing the bare minimum. Blaming your failures on others.
