yep msfs20 is a game.
Xplane11 is a sim
Sorry, they are both simulators⦠one just happens to be in its infancy and will grow into the monster of flight simulations.
I have purchased every single version of X-Plane and MSFS. I personally prefer MSFS over X-Plane.
Just to give it some perspectives in terms of issues we are seeing with MSFS. It comes with the territory. X-Plane has just as many issues as well. I remember leading up to X-Plane 11 release, they were touting G1000 simulation everywhere. However when it was officially released, G1000 panel was no where to be found. It was a HUGE disappointment because the planes I fly are with G1000 panels and I wanted to get more proficient in using the panel. I think it took them a long time (maybe almost a year??) before the promised and touted G1000 panel eventually showed up.
The user experience though with MSFS is still far superior. I feel like you almost have to be a software developer to use X-Plane and the learning curve is very steep. Whereas with MSFS, you can just go fly.
Today, the X-Plane G1000 panel is clearly superior. I am about to get my instrument rating and being proficient in using the G1000 is critical. The G1000 on X-Plane is modeled correctly and most of the switches are working as expected. Thatās not the case with MSFS right now. I do think MSFS will get there, hopefully it will not take a year
That list probably cost more than my real airplane! But when I fly over my house, it looks just like my house.
This one always gets me⦠IFR by definition means you donāt look out the window except on short final! How can visuals be of any importance for actual IFR??
Hypocrisy at its best āI couldnāt care less about the eye candy because IIIIIIFFFFFFFRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!11 AND MSFS sucks because the visuals are ā ā ā ā ā
Makes no sense whatsoever
Which definition prohibits the pilot looking out of the window? IFR is just a set of rules. They can and are still followed, even in VMC. In fact, when flying IFR in VMC, youāre still expected to clear for VFR traffic.
You have a unique definition of IFR. Am I not allowed to enjoy the view out the window?
