How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Intermittently - usually around 1800-2000UTC

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Load up sim
  2. Observe cloud missing on map and in game

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

Just a thought - could that be due to the data being missing in the source? No source data = no clouds in sim. For example, a (real-life) radar station is offline for maintenance, etc.

Worth checking a day or so from now to see if the issue persists.

Hmm it could be I guess but I don’t think that’s the issue in this case as it seems to consistently happen around the same time every day around 1900UTC onwards in the sim but when I check other satellite sources the data is there.

Will continue to monitor.

Same issue again this evening:

I’m thinking maybe it could be related to this: Regression - sim is mixing live weather with historical weather again (was previously fixed in SU2) - #4 by utd4life12

Checked for the next few days and it’s still an issue, tonight for example in the UK you can see all the missing cloud data:

MSFS, areas in red missing data:

Bug still present in latest BETA, 16th June 2025 around 1900 UTC, in the red circle all of the clouds disappeared instantly in the areas I’ve circled in red:

I have a 100% repro rate on this one now @SmotheryVase665 it happens every night at 1900 UTC and impacts mainly the UK/Ireland.

I hope it can be passed to Devs for investigation and hopefully a fix.

17 June @ 1900 UTC

All of the cloud cover over central UK got removed when it shouldn’t be:

It would be really appreciated to get some acknowledgement or response to this one. It’s disheartening and frustrating participating in a BETA and provided bug reports and feedback but not getting any response when providing so many examples, especially on something like this which is a core area of the sim such as weather injection. Meanwhile reports of cows and sheep being incorrect size get immediate acknowledgement.

Come on, aren’t all players of this game meant to be considered in the same way?

After 1900 UTC cloud data gets removed:

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: It happens frequently that chunks of live weather data for clouds are missing in live weather, almost as if some of the data is not making its way into MSFS.

Did you experience this issue before you joined the Beta?

Provide specific location or coordinates: Example given is UK, where I see this issue every day.

Provide time and date of the observed weather issue: 25th June, 2011 UTC

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Every day.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Load up Live weather at a UK location
  2. Observe chunks of the clouds missing, which is particularly evident on world map.
  3. You can also compare areas where it is missing that for example should be overcast.

As you can see in comparison to the real world cloud cover, the areas in red where the cloud is being removed when it shouldn’t be:

You can further test this by loading in locally at an airport in the missing data area, for example EGHQ.

EGHQ 251850Z 25009KT 9999 4000N -DZ BKN003

In MSFS because this is in an area of missing data, the weather does not match how it should:

any large data are prone to loosing some blocks while streaming, that’s the well known feature of streaming.

I wouldn’t exactly call it a feature and it should be addressed and fixed.

Same again tonight, after roughly 1900-2000 UTC cloud data is missing / gets removed, tonight roughly in exactly the same locations as yesterday.

Great report - could it be that some METAR data is causing discrepancies here
Could it be that after a certain time the METAR data has the upper hand? That would explain a lot, as METAR is unfortunately not accurate, at least as far as cloud cover is concerned (at least in the EU). I have provided similar reports where the rain is missing, for example, although it is displayed. You can also see it at the airports, it doesn’t always rain all the time, but the rain stops and moments later it starts again - as if an animation is being played - can’t you give the Forecat and satellite images the upper hand here, then the whole thing would be more accurate!
The answer also applies to your other report “mixing live weather with old data”
