Just fly the ILS into SFO 28R and the plane swings wildly left and right and cannot stay on localizer. Have replicated 3 times. Have not tried other instrument approaches. I am a LP and Instrument Rated.

Yeah, good idea but if I spent my time debugging this program i would have to quit my day job. I’ll set up a flight plan into OAK Oakland nearby. Have not been there in MSFS 2024.
I have no problems with SU3. The AP is one of the best things about the 787. Note I just replicated the problem with SU4 Beta into KOAK. If you are still running SU3 try the ILS into KSFO. 28R (or L).
Using MS flight planner a good departure is KNUQ which is an old naval air station just SE of SFO and makes for a short flight. You can also use KSJC, which is San Jose. Almost a straight in for the ILS but further away.
Took me 2 minutes to do with MS Flight Planner. Remember to intercept the GS from underneath. So I set the initial climb to 3000’ and you will come in under.
My first two flights in SU4 Beta indicate, that this might be a more widespread issue.
Saab 340 and TBM 930 both navigated normally during the preceding phases of flight. But once in approach mode they started wildly overcorrecting.
Basically turned into a “bang-bang controller”, where the moment the deviation on either axis swung from one side to the other, it would apply full roll/pitch deflection. This resulted in awful “snaking” down the localizer until the AP was turned off.
Can confirm this as well. Tried it with the C172, G36 and PA28-236 at KSEA, CYVR and KRYY. It swings not only horisontally but also vertically: plunges @ -1500fpm, levels out, repeat. Video of the PA28-236 at KRYY.
I would suggest the thread title be amended to include other aircraft
The issue is not just limited to flying approaches for me. While just flying straight and level in ALT and HDG or NAV mode, the aircraft “snaps” to a different attitude every now and then. It is as if the AP went to sleep for a while and all of a sudden realises it has fallen behind and pretty much instantaneously snaps the aircraft to a new attitude that should have changed over time.
This is the first unique issue that I have pretty much ever had in either 2020 or 2024. It is sufficiently annoying for me to now leave SU4 Beta and return to SU3
Tonight the C208 was shaking its head “no” for much of a flight. Yaw dampening sometimes helped and sometimes made the oscillations stronger. (Btw i have rudder assist on).
We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged.
