Install locations

2024 only seems to allow you to change within the menu’s where the rolling cache is installed. the other cache files which one imagines is where i can download aircraft etc seems fixed on my C drive when the game is installed on my D drive with the cache moved to E. can i not have the option to install where i want??

It seems that an option of choosing where to download all the stuffs is missing with the steam version of 2024. And the MS-Store/Xbox version is doing fine. Now we can only use symbolic link as a workaround. Hope they fix it soon.

There is a popup available via the smaller cog next to the search box in the content area. It allows you to set where your ‘Packages’ folder is and the Community folder is in there.
I still have over 10GB of data in my c user profile directory though, which is daft, it should not be used for large, non user specific settings.

thanks i will check that out if i ever get into the sim again before i delete the whole thing. its only been 30mins at 98% so far so maybe tonight right?

A LOT of experienced pc users lock down their c drive as its the SYSTEM drive and shouldn’t be messed with by GAMES.
I even have mine set so windows does not have full access to it but I wouldn’t recommend that to most people.
Be interested to know if you use partitions to make your system drive say full with only 5gb space so your gaming and data drives have more space what the sim would do.
Will it say to the user with 8tb free on d drive SORRY YOU DON’T HAVE ENOUGH SPACE TO INSTALL THIS PRODUCT?

Yeah this is ridiculous. Chose to install on my dedicated flight sim drive, so 11GB is on there. The other 40 is on the C drive…

Let us change it please.
