Execute update procedure.Wait until “fs-base-0.1.214.fspatch” tries to finalize. The installation process is immediately return to the beginning of “fs-base-0.1.211.fspatch” and re downloads everything from then on. PC specs and/or peripheral set up of relevant:
One hell of a PC Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:
Trying to update to the latest 1.22.2.0 World Update 7 from previous version
…Unfortunately it seems they did it…AGAIN!!!
It seemed rather strange to me right from the beginning when trying to update from the Microsoft Store my MSFS App where seemingly not even a byte was actually downloaded but rather it said updated (instantly) even though there was some 500Mb available for downloading. Most likely nothing was finally downloaded.
Later on the Installation Manager started to download the latest 1.22.2.0 content reporting a 1.88Gibs worth of data. But exactly when 47/51 fs-base-0.1.214.fspatch tried to finalize itself, the installation process returned back to the beginning of downloading the 47th out of 51 items and the procedure started all over again entering a continuous and endless loop.
Uninstalled X Box and X Box Live, restart my PC and reinstalled X Box & X Box Live to absolutely no avail. Same when I manually deleted the downloaded content from inside MSFS directory.
Same ol same ol…!!!
It seems the only thing changing is our ever growing feelings of tolerance in front of such situations.
What I did was go, during downloading and hang, go to official/one store folder, look up file that hangs and delete it. It started whith that file again and this time no problem.
Which file exactly must delete during downloading? There are several files there:
fs-base-0.1.211.fspatch winrar folder
fs-base-0.1.211.fspatch.002.part
fs-base-0.1.211.fspatch.003.part
fs-base-0.1.212.fspatch
fs-base-0.1.213.fspatch
fs-base-0.1.214.fspatch
fs-base-0.1.215.fspatch
The active file is impossible to be deleted and when I deleted either of them nothing happened.Something brakes the procedure during decompressing of fs-base-0.1.211.fspatch rar folder.
It is so frustrating because the sim was working perfectly before, until I had to update it. I tried all the steps in the " Microsoft Store - Download and Installation issues" articles (all 3 levels)
I also tried uninstalling, reinstalling, installing on different drives- pretty much everything short of a reformat.
This really is unacceptable- especially since it was working for me before.
Disable your anti-virus. Had this exact same issue with the exact same file and it was my Avast antivirus causing the hang up. Disabled it and I was able to finish the install.
I’m about to try all different solutions and report back accordingly.
BTW when you say “quit the installation” you mean to just pause the installation or close entirely MSFS and reopen it again after deleting the files?
The last files that is fs-base-0.1.214.fspatch & fs-base-0.1.215.fspatch (which are shown as .part until they’re download completed) are very small in size hence the available time window to go ahead and delete them is very small. In a fraction of a second they’re already downloaded and the deleting procedure starts all alone by itself deleting all fs-base-0.1.211.fspatch related files.
…Finally the obvious suspect my AVG Pro was the culprit in this case!I completely shut down all its shields and everything run normally all throughout the end of installation process.Last night I tried to download shutting down only some of AVG shields/protections and nothing happened. This time I shut everything down and it made a huge difference.
Many thanks to everyone for all the valuable help guys,it’s greatly appreciated.
