Installation problems "please wait"

Hi all,

My MSFS is currently on the content manager screen, it asked me to update something up to 56.97GiB which I accepted. But the installation bar just keeps saying ‘Please Wait’.

Does anyone have any advice?

Mine was also stuck on content manager downloading… I have just now closed it and am restarting… fingers crossed.

5 hours since I got the game and I still haven’t taken off… it’s been a long night

Tell me about it bro :frowning:

These technical problems are really causing me a pain!

Yeah its the same with me. I had content manager open said i had about 90 some gig update. It started, then crashed, i rebooted my pc and now its stuck with 59.97GiB with please wait and no movement. When i then fresh booted it went to a broken main menu that i had to quit out of as half the screen was missing. Then the next time - content manager appeared but again stuck at please wait.

Ive been trying to play this since 9pm PST yesterday with no luck. I feel like im going to have to wait for this game to be available on XCloud before i can play it.

Same here man, idek why this is the case!

I just found a quick fix, I changed the download location to the main microsoft flight sim folder (manually) and it started to randomly install from 95 GiB again. Try it!!!

I have done that erlier but it will get the same error again after 1h or 2

Let us know if you actually got a full install completed!

I’m gonna pretend I didn’t see this and hope for the best - WE DONT NEED TOXIC THOUGHTS HERE. I just wanna fly a plane :frowning:

Will do! Currently 3:27am in London but i’m committed to making it work tonight haha

I was having the same problem, but then I found @Fumanshu183 and it saved me. He instructs as follows:
"
"This worked for me:

close Flight Simulator
go to the download folder (the location which was shown in Flight Simulator near the “update” button - in my case C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Official\Steam)
sort the files by modify date and delete the newest files (I deleted the 6 latest files named like “fs-base-cgl-0.1.28.fspatch” with a size of 30MB for all of them)
start Flight Simulator and start the update"

"

Please note, however, that the location of said files may be different depending of your instalation, mine for example was this crazy mess, 'cause I installed FS on another Hard Disk. “E:\WpSystem%numbers%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_%numbers%\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore”

I think I fixed it, when I name a folder it doesn’t work but there I just kept it at new folder and it works. Idk what is happening but if it doesn’t work try making a. New folder and not renaming it.

i’m also waiting for 10 hours, meanwhile the computer crashed and i start again. NOT THE BEST BEGINNING!

Mine was also that crazy mess - but its working fine right now, idk how!

Thank you all, this solved the “Please Wait…” issue for me… just deleted the last file and now it is not stalled.
It is amazing that they didn’t catch this!

mine was stuck at 80 gb of 91 gb all day. rebooted and i got into the sim menu. could see i was missing difficult approaches. rebooted and now its downloading 14gb. I have the premium deluxe. so assume this is the additional 14gb

I had this problem initially, the content manager screen is not a long wait before it gets going. So if your sitting on a frozen download screen or on the splash screen with blue bar not moving, try the technique below.

I would suggest to not just restart the whole sim, but log-in and out of your Microsoft Account, this is what worked for me. It also worked for the second install of 3 gb for the Deluxe Premium Upgrade that came later on launch day.

  • Use ALT-F4 on frozen download or blue bar splash screem
  • Log-out of Microsoft Account and log back in
  • Restart Sim to commence download again.

Hope this is a help. We are waiting for you up here in the blue skies!

I have the same problem as well. ‘Please wait…’ on the screen (and it flashes to ‘Downloading asobo.xxx.xxx.fspackage’) every few seconds

I tried this but the problem is I dont have anything inside ‘Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Official\Steam’.

Honestly really frustrated :frowning: I just want to play the sim

Go to your installation directory “MS2020/Official/Steam” and delete the latest downloaded file. It worked for me.

I think I found a solution for this problem: [SOLUTION FOUND] Content manager not downloading any update package!
