If I pause the download installation and close the software and start pc again tomorrow will it completely restart installation download from the beginning - or resume keeping the several GB already downloaded
I am not 100% sure, but the application crashed while downloading for me and once I got it restarted, it seem to have resumed where it left. Would thus assume that it would just download the remaining packages once you start it up again.
I dont want to run my pc overnight downloading as it gets very hot - hence the question.
Thanks for your reply
Kind regards
Steve
It will resume where it stopped.
Thankyou for your response
I decided to restart mine. I think I was around 17 GB into the 40GB file. Now I’m 1.8GB in to a 27 GB file. I don’t know if it’s started downloading a different file completely or it’s the same 40GB minus what I had already downloaded and just records as starting from 0 percent again?
Yes, it’ll restart the percentage based on what it needs to now download.
Actually, if the download gets really slow, force quit and restart can improve the speed in my experience.
For the record I restarted it a couple of times this am and it does start where it left off ie it does not start from beginning again
My download progress did not change after 2 Gb of installation for some hours now. Even pause or restart does not help. Normally, all updates are a little messy, but this one is a major disaster.
A X-Box Roll Out with such a major update can‘t go well at the same time.
My install is currently 12mb/ s but drops to nothing every so often.Im in UK. However,I stopped it yesterday as it was running 0.5mb/s most of time.So far only 50% on install downloaded.Probably take several more hours. Also a lot more to download from inside the sim when i get in it - so overall a couple of days effort.
I am on my second day with stopping and restarting the sim & download. I wish you strength for this update journey, as there is not much we can do about.
Good Luck, Mate
