I crashed my first C172, I had it covered by insurance but I still needed 150k to fix it.
As I finished missions to get some cash, I noticed the insurance was still being charged every two or three days and leaving me with a near zero account balance, even though the aircraft wasn’t being used anymore.
Tip: sell a heavily damaged aircraft if the insurance keeps being charged, otherwise you won’t be able to accumulate cash to fix it.

That must be a bug, because the insurance is supposed to charge per flight hour, right? Or is there some minimum?
It is bugged in both ways. It’s supposed to charge per flight hour, and does not. It is also supposed to cover you, it does not. Every tier covers 0%, the popup even says so. They have not acknowledged either bug.
I’ve had it cover around 78K credits for a 172 before on the middle policy, but that’s the only time I’ve used it to test.
I’ve only tested the top tier, and everyone in the thread about it has also only tested that. It could just be the top tier doesn’t work. I will try to get the middle tier next time and see.

I agree with you all, this feature has many bugs. In my case the insurance covered part of my losses when I crashed, but the popup incorrectly says zero.
The middle tier had the same issue of other tiers. For now, if you don’t have money to fix a damaged aircraft, just sell it immediately.
I think many features will be fixed in the patches to be released today and next week, I hope this one is included.
