Integrated vs Dedicated Graphics

Are there any people able to play with integrated graphics? If yes, how is your experience?
I am curious about this due to knowing that people like to use laptops and out of the box computers for gaming. I was once in that spot, but I’m curious if the technology has advanced to a point that integrated graphics would work for MFS2020.

I have an integrated graphics PC /Dell Inspiron and though I do get a warning that my PC is below the minimum specs when I start the game the sim runs fine I never get CTD etc. To be honest it’s been amazing

I purchased a Series S Xbox to run the game/sim when it comes out in summer 2021 more cost effective than building a high end PC

Hi @FlashedUnicorn1!
What graphic settings in MSFS do you use?

It varies for each element from Medium couple on high and some low

I will try and post some screenshots tomorrow for you

Depends are you referring to specifically Intel integrated. If so those are way below the requirements. On the AMD side which is faster should allow low settings.HD 630 onboard here on my setup and the sim will likely not make it to the loading screen.

I don’t think mine would either! :frowning:
A friend of mine is using his onboard without much problems. I think he runs it on high with some adjustments. Not sure of what graphics is built in, but he has an I9 with graphics.

Integrated graphics Dell PC on the way to Athens from UK. PC is below minimum spec

Would love to see your PC specs.

Wow, amazing Inspiron can do that.

Your new Series S Xbox should give you a boost. I think that’s ZEN 2 AMD with RDNA 2 (similar to RX 6000) graphics.

Amazing.

I think if your PC had at least the GTX 1070, you’d be able to use High-End or Ultra with some adjustments.

The graphic drivers you use, is that just standard drivers from Dell?

there from Intel I believe via Dell. Good point on the 1070 do you think I should just upgrade to another inspiron with a 1070 card

I’m not sure if that card is still around - maybe? I think for older cards the RTX 2080 is there and the GTX 1660. If you use your same system and just get the GPU, make sure your power supply can handle it.

My PC is older - i7-6700K, GTX 1070, 32GB RAM but I am able to run MSFS on Ultra without any problems. My laptop is almost the same except GTX 1080 and i7-7700hq.

oh wow…thanks for the good points

Kind of. A used 1070 would be a great buy if you can get one for less than $200. If not, I’d try for a 2060 if you can get one at $299

This is the most important thing to keep in mind. I wouldn’t risk it if it’s below 450W and at least 80+ certified

If so, get a GTX 1650 (https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1650-gv-n1650ixoc-4gd/p/N82E16814932151?Item=N82E16814932151&Description=GTX%201650&cm_re=GTX_1650-)
