Yesterday I was able to fly with the abovementioned configuration. What can I say? Absolutely unbelieveable; high settings (many on high/ultra). Very sharp and detailed graphics, and no stuttering at all! Looking around is just like real life.
Important!
Please use the beta versions of Steam VR and Vive console, because these have fixes for previous timing problems. So, if anyone is looking for the ideal config for FS2020 VR: well, I think this is it.
CPU running on 25%, RTX4090 running on 60-70%. Hopefully I can fly with this config the coming years.

Getting this sim to be what you want it to be (especially in VR) can be a frustrating experience. But it can also be very rewarding. Glad you found a combination that works so well for you.
I finally have the sim working really well in 2D. I’m going to work on getting my new G2 dialed in (couldn’t afford the Vive Pro 2) and I hope my experience is equally rewarding.

I have the same PC specs and I’m getting very good results with my +3yo OG Vive Pro1 (with AMOLED screens, Etsy Gear VR lens mod, and Index controllers). Thanks to the i9 13900k/rtx4090 I can super sample the heck out of this but unfortunately I still get a bit too much SDE for my liking.
Maybe this would be better with a VP2’s higher res? But then I’d probably lose the great VP1 blacks/contrast, plus the great edge to edge sweet spot I get with the Etsy lens mod. Always tradeoffs I guess, lol!
In any case, I’m glad to hear that you’re very happy with your current VP2 results. Cheers.
One or two CPU cores are maxed out and the rest are idle. That’s why you see 25%. There is no any headroom left and you are limited by CPU. I am glad it works for you, but you are probably doing some less demanding scenarios like bush flying between small airports. Jump into PMDG 737 on a busy airport like KSFO with FSLTL traffic and your PC will struggle. Mine does and I have the same CPU+GPU.
Exactly this! I have an amazing stutter free experience using VR with my low end setup driven with a 2070 super. I have to use every trick in the book though. However, as soon as I move from smaller airports in Norway to using a busy 3rd party airport in a FBW A320 for instance then the whole thing goes south. Better GPU and CPU allow more headroom to crank things up but the same problems will bite you. I do envy your kit though
