Running ok here - you can see the sim running in the background at around 50 fps in bad WX.
You may want to retry a clean install, maybe delete any graphics related caches.
I did the “Clean” within the ARC installer.
Now, I’m going to try the DDU.
I’ll be back in a few minutes.
Edit - 8:54 EST USA
Ran DDU.
Driver 5382 still giving errors.
Installed Driver 5379 via ARC Clean.
Errors also. Was not before.
I had just installed Win 11 via Clean USB install
and then installed the FS2020 launcher on C:, 2.1 GB.
Had FS2020 installed on D: so I did not reinstall it.
I have a problem with my PC now.
i5-13600K on Z790 MB.
64 GB DDR 7200.
I’m going to reinstall FS2020 on D:.
I’ll report my results.
I had a little trouble installing 5382.
Hi had to boot into safe mode, run DDU.
Then a clean install did the trick.
I’m staying on the .5333 build for the remainder of this beta, as it rules out changes made in the driver code between .5333 .5382 as a cause for any new issues seen in subsequent SU15 builds that might be coming our way.
FYI, I’ve not seen the “Display driver igfxnd stopped responding and has successfully recovered.” error that I previously reported in this thread since updating to SU15 v.1.37.7.0, but I need to do a couple of repro tests to make sure.
I would install the current Driver 5382.
I had problems after a new clean install of Win 11.
And then trying to do a clean install of FS2020.
Lots of problems with the FS2020 install.
CTD and restarts and just crazy things never seen before
on FS2020 installs.
Anyway, I’m on an i5-13600K, Z790 MB and WHQL 7200 DDR5.
Many problems reported by users with DDR5 memory speed.
I could only get mine to run at 6400 Hz without error.
So, I lowered the DDR5 speed to 4800 in the BIOS.
FS2020 installed quickly (~300 Mbps).
FS2020 runs great on driver 5382.

Hi,
I’ve been looking to buy a GPU that can run MSFS with Fenix A320 and PMDG 737 smoothly at 1440p. My FPS goal would be around 60. My CPU for this build will be a 5800X3D. Will the A770 fit my needs?
Thanks!
It will not provide 60 FPS at 4K.
I don’t know about 1440P. That is not native for my display.
But it does providw a smooth flight at around 30 FPS at 4K, Ultra, DX12.
C172, CJ4, Longitude, A320, 747.
You will find at the following link another detailed report on A770 mated with a 12700K CPU, I believe it is running at 4K / DX12 with visual options maxed out, and tested with or without AI traffic, on a recent SU15 beta build.
Being that 5800X3D has more L3 Cache than its Intel counterparts, I would expect it to perform similarly or better than 12700K esp at resolutions lower than 4K.
(some CPU comparisons available at the following link).
Hi @TriableMantis30 ,
I agree with @MSFSRonS - you will not get 60 FPS at 4K. At 4K DX12 & Ultra settings & 100% AI traffic, FPS is ~40 on VFR GA bush flights, & ~30 FPS over high scenery & AI traffic areas such as major cities & airports. At 30 FPS & above, flights are still smooth, but drops below that cause noticeable stutters (see link in the previous post).
On my previous two 1700x960 1080p TVs, FPS was higher (fewer pixels to render). For example, flying between Santa Monica (KSMO) to Los Angeles (KLAX), initial FPS was 61, and stayed between 58-62 during taxi, take off and while following the coastline. After turning eastward & flying parallel to the airport, the framerate dropped to the mid 40’s, with a brief momentary dip to 35 & 26. Approach, landing and taxiing to parking was in the mid 40’s, as I reported here:
So, at 1440p, with all settings max’d out, I do not think you will get 60 FPS over high scenery & AI traffic areas such as major cities & airports - I’d speculate they would be in the low 40’s. With the improvements in SU15, flights should still be smooth & mostly stutter-free. It is only when FPS drop below 30 that I’ve noticed a degradation in the visual flight experience. You can, of course, reduce settings to increase FPS.
Note #1: These numbers refer to the FPS that you see in the Gamebar performance widget. The MSFS dev-mode FPS counter will show half these values.
Note #2: I do not have any add-ons. Loading a significant number of addons such as high-detail city airports may decrease performance (FPS). Although the test linked above does include results for the A320neo v2 flying over KJFK, the complexity of the Fenix A320 and PMDG 737 may also reduce framerates.
If you can wait another six weeks, the Flightsim expo 2024 takes place June 21-23 in Las Vegas & we are expecting to hear more about MSFS 2024, with (hopefully) information about hardware specs for the new sim.
These are interesting GPUs. Okay not the monstrous AMD or Nvidia offerings but certainly interesting and the GPU market needs a third player to shake things up.

Have any smart folk made an equivolent of ‘Nvidia control panel’ where you can get access to all of those otherwise hidden settings? Some pretty cool stuff appears ocasionally on github that doesn’t get the recognition or attention it should. Stu

New info on Lunar Lake CPU with Battlemage graphics.
But this is mobile only.
Looks interesting.
I’m waiting on both Arrow Lake CPU this fall and Battlemage GPU
for the desktop this fall or earlier.
And the required LGA 1851 (Z890) motherboard. (DDR 5 only)
