Not sure if pilots are overclocking these cards, but I am. “GPU performance boost” 22, “GPU voltage offset” 160mV. ‘[GPU core power limit’ to 228w (tried to increase this to no avail using Bifrost method), then crank up the fan. It gives a considerable boost to FPS. Seems stable enough.

Intel Battlemage GPU is coming- 2nd quarter.

"As per the latest disclosed client PC roadmap, Intel is steadfast in its plans to introduce the Xe2 independent graphics, codenamed “Battlemage,” in the year 2024. The recently unveiled roadmap includes a mention of Intel’s latest addition, the Arc A580 GPU, within the GPU section. The Battlemage series of desktop graphics cards will employ the Xe2-HPG microarchitecture and encompass two distinct GPUs: BMG-G10 (with a power rating of up to 225W) and BMG-G21 (with a power rating of up to 150W). The high-end BMG-G10 GPU is scheduled for launch in the second quarter of 2024.

The specifications disclosed thus far are as follows:

  • Xe² HPG Architecture
  • 56 Xe cores
  • 448 XVE (EU)
  • Each XVE unit comprises 2 shaders
  • 112MB Adamantine cache
  • 16GB 256-bit GDDR6X video memory
  • Power consumption of up to 225W
  • Expected launch in Q2 2024

Today built in a intel arc 770 phanthom 16gb gaming card as an upgrade for my oldest system
X79A GD65 (8D) mobo with i7-3930K 3.20Ghz processor and 32gb 1600Mhz ram windows 10
And it is totally worth it
Though i struggle to get more than 1 monitor working on this card
Im very pleased with this upgrade while flying smooth above New York Manhattan with headtracking
and when putting head set on the table after landing
I noticed its very clear visuals for cockpit.

(Thanks for your sharing optimism of these Intel Arc cards @MSFSRonS )

Thanks for your response.
Those screenshots are excellent.

The Intel A770 16 GB GPU is remarkable.
No issues with DX12, TAA, HDR10 and smooth flying.
C172 to AIRBUS to BOEING.

The graphics are great.

Enjoy …

Any ‘Sharpen’ setting suggestions?
Or, use the Ingame sharpen?
Or OpenXR toolkit sharpen?
Or Arc control panel sharpen?
Disable sharepn in Users.cfg?

Thanks Stu

Has anyone else been affected by this error:
“Display driver igfxnd stopped responding and has successfully recovered.”

I upgraded to 5333 WHQL yesterday. I’m running the SU15 beta - now at v1.37.5.0.
The sim has frozen twice tonight - see this thread for details, inc. PC specs & flight configurations.

The sim has also frozen on the previous SU15 beta v1.37.4.0 with the same error.
I’ve followed the instructions on the Intel website to do a clean re-install (Select “Customize” then execute a "Clean Install”), but this has not resolved the issue.

New info from Graphically Challenged.
Intel Battlemage GPU might be B970 and B980.
Note: I hope there is a 24GB version of the B980.

Pricing & performance comparison may be:

Wow - an ARC B980 for $450 - if true then that should shake up the gpu market.

Much needed and overdue.

I’m on 5333 and SU15B. Very stable.

Along with the upcoming Arrow Lake CPU (Gen 15)
Intel will be releasing a new budget CPU.

Bartlett Lake S CPU for LGA 1700 motherboards (Z690, Z790).
It is a Raptor Lake refresh refresh per Red Gaming Tech.

It may be a good match for the Intel Battlemage GPU.

I can’t help you but the following Intel site provides what to do to resolve this problem if you still have it.

You may have to do a clean reinstall of FS2020 along with a new ARC driver after “Display Driver Uninstaller” (DDU ).

Thanks - I re-installed the driver when I posted that message, but it did not resolve the issue. I’ve not had a freeze on the .8 build, but there have been a whole bunch of Windows & MS Store updates since then too…

Warning - Driver 5379 Beta relesed - Error encountered on my PC.
DP connector on my A770 stopped working.

Note:

  1. I used a DP to HDMI cable to my HDMI TV
  2. Install locked up with a locked screen.
  3. Luckily, I had a HDMI cable connected to my iGPU motherboard HDMI connector to another HDMI TV port
  4. This connection works.
  5. Re-installed the 5379 driver - same error
  6. Installed the 5333 driver
  7. DP output from A770 now works again.

If you use HDMI, it may install without any problem.

Edit & Update:

From Intel support:

  1. Suggested to use Device Driver Uninstaller, DDU.
  2. DDU worked.
  3. Using the motherboard HDMI port and iGPU.
  4. Ran DDU.
  5. Ran Driver 5379 install.
  6. Selected “Clean Install” in the driver install program.
  7. Driver 5379 installed correctly.
  8. DP port is now working.

New driver is available: 5379 Beta
For all ARC cards plus iGPUs.

Works fine for me in Windows 11 and MSFS.
Note: For me DDU was required (as noted above).
This is the 47th driver released.
