In the past, I have always looks at my Aircraft selection in the hangar, and they are parked there, probably with their brakes on, or Chocked, but the defiantly stay put.
There is no option to taxi the plane out of the Hangar ..
BUT
Today I installed a few of the BOAT addons (Yes, I know its a Flight simulator, but it also does not do a bad job as a real world scenery Boat simulator !!!)
Well, I loaded up with one of the Boats in the hangar, and it was MOVING !!.
As I watched it, it slowly “Cruised” towards the open Hangar doors, ignoring them as they closed and opened, and “Cruised” right outside the hangar !!!
I don’t what what property the BOAT has that is different to a Plane, but it would be cool if the Planes could also taxi out of the hangar (ideally stopping when the doors are closed !! )
Here is a screenhsot of the BOAT, after “crusing” slowly out of the hangar !!
I don’t think these boats have REVERSE throttle yet, maybe in next version … Then they MAY be able to be moved back into the hangar ..
Max Boat speed is 20 knots ( MSFS water limitation to be stable), but the boats move out of the hanger at a very slow walking pace, as if being pulled with a Towbar by a Human !!
Just an Interesting difference and quite unexpected – but Very Cool !!
10 minutes later, boat is well on its way towards the Terminal Building.
The two young ladies on the swim platform seem quite unaware of what is happening, as long as the Sun is out, and they can get a tan, they seem to be happy !!!
The plane was in the hanger when it moved out .. but you bring up an interesting question … which airport is the MSFS “Aircraft Selection Hangar” located at ?
The view from within the hangar, out of the open hangar doors, always looks the same, so what Airport is it ??
If you have a moving map app like LNM or Navigraph charts, when you’re in the hangar it shows you at 0 degrees latitude, 0 degrees longitude; the center of the earth coordinate-wise, which is slightly off the coast of Gabon, Africa. So it’s a fictional island airport at the center of the globe.
