So, SU5 gifted me with a quite peculiar issue I shall say. While my performance in general is good, I am plagued by strange very long freezes.
Before I explain more I may have to say that I even used SayIntentions Optimizer Tool and I have to say that the sim runs well when I load in.
I can pan around, take off and all is dandy. Then, over time (maybe after 15 minutes?) it starts. First some occasional freezes, then getting to a point where I have a “stroke” every 30 seconds for more than 10 seconds - making the sim unplayable. But there seems to be no reason - FPS indicator is not in the red, VRAM is no issue (I have 16 - never go over 10-12).
And remember: this started with SU5 - so I kinda feel it’s not my system. Especially since in the beginning it gets better.
Also - often when I approach/land it gets better (yes I know it’s weird - I told ya).
So - to you guys - what do you think? Why am I building these long freezes over time which get lesser towards the destination.
Is it a “me” problem or is something else at work here?
I was just buzzin around Colorado and the same thing. Every 30 seconds or so a pause for a few seconds and fine again. Haven’t experienced something like this until today. I’m thinking it’s on their side. I just migrated about a week ago and besides this, very satisfied. I hope they sort this out.
Usually I get smooth performance. Yeah, I saw that too from S.I. I’m going to try it. This started today, and I was really lookin forward to do some flyin out there today too lol. They should sort this out. I’m sure we’re not the only ones.
Hi there, if the sim freezes are 10 seconds or longer, there must be something noticeable in Windows task manager. Just start it before a flight and let it run in the background. When the sim freezes, bring it up and check the graphics for a loss of performance (CPU, Sim Disk, Wifi, GPU) and check in processes for unusual activity during freezes.

I checked if there are some suspicious tasks draining power and causing those freezes - nothing. Also - what is strange is that for example today I had a flight of 2 hours with not one freeze - and then I have flights were I have freezes every 30 seconds or so.
Whenever I get a freeze the FPS counter looks like this:
I can see a brief spike and red bar at the MainThreat Indicator - but other than that - nothing? Or do you see something interesting here? My VRAM is absolutely not used up etc.
Also - I do not have such issues in other games which are also demanding. MSFS 2024 is the only one with those hiccups.
I can’t see anything in your screenshot what proves a long freeze, sorry. In that case I would do the usual add-on exclusion, start with a clean community folder and take it from there.
