a new monitor for my computer and
I notice that my new ips monitor (in-plane switching monitor) seems discolored compared to the VA monitor (Vertical Alignement monitor) that I previously had. The old VA monitor used to display vivid green trees, vivid red ground while the new ips monitor displays greyed images (trees are too dark, red grounds are dark like blood, everything is discolored).
I already activated HDR in Windows, wich partially helped, images are a little more colored but not enough as they should be.
Is it true that ips monitors are natively less vivid than VA monitor ? or is there some more settings? I am using a very good NVidia Graphic Card, and the densitu color is 10 bits.
Thanks.
The rating for the LG 32GR93U-B model on Rtings.com looks good overall.
It’s verdict on HDR is: "The LG 32GR93U is decent for HDR, but it has limitations. While it displays a wide range of colors and gets bright, small highlights don’t pop against the rest of the image, and not all colors are vivid. It also has a low contrast ratio that makes blacks look gray in the dark, and the monitor lacks a local dimming feature to improve the contrast.
The monitor has a high rating for Color Accuracy, but note the caveats in the review. Have you download & tried out the Rtings.com ICC profile for the monitor? It might make a difference.
I already checked monitor settings. Using "Vivid " in Game mode is NOT the solution since it oversaturates colors without to give real brightness or real vivid colours. The general frame remains greyish with oversaturated colours.
I think the LG 32GR93U is natively with this color. You can’t change it.
Anyway, it is not very bad colour. Need only to get used to it. I think it’s only a variant like when old CRT TV used to have PAL, SECAM images.
Probably ips screens are less bright and less vivid than VA screens.
Better than before - play with settings mate (saturation).
Edit
Reset nvidia settings and uninstall nvidia geforce experience.
