Using Windows 10 and Reverb G2 post SU6. 457.30 works well still. Has anyone else had better success (clarity/performance balance) with another driver?
I’ve been using 479.16 for quite some time without any issues.
Win10, Reverb G2, RTX 3070, 32Gb RAM
457.30 still works good for me, I’m trying the latest and greatest now. I still have the light flickering/artifacting that wasn’t present in 457.30 , so I’m probably gonna roll it back.
I’m using the latest 496.61
Tried the latest Nvidia drivers.Turned all my MSFS screens to to bright shadowed coloured screens.Cartoonish almost.Gone back to 461 that worked fine before. Now the same result.I’m now frustrated.Up till now I’ve had very few problems with MSFS.This is annoying me now!
With a 3090, 457.30 is performing better than later version. I’ve updated the driver several times only to roll back. Are there any tweaks recommended within the Nvidia control panel for VR users specifically or should I roll with what is recommended for PC settings?, or, does it make any difference in VR with Reverb G2? So, for now, if I click on Nvidia control panel under 3D settings, adjust image settings with preview I have “use the advanced 3D image settings” selected.
Within manage 3D settings I have global settings with only a few changes from default. I have antialiasing mode application controlled. I use TAA and 4x4 super sampling in MSFS settings. The only other one I changed was Power Management Mode to “prefer maximum performance”. The two I have a question about are the VR pre-rendered frames which I have “1” . Any thoughts?
A question , do we need prefer maximum performance on the power plan in windows?
I read a few articles whereby most games do not require this and it ramps up my cpu to turbo boost all the time , which I don’t need
Intel cpu 10700k
Gpu 2080 super
Mine works fine on balanced mode , although I do have prefer maximum performance in nvidia control panel and locked at 40 FPS , don’t suffer any degradation of FPS drops apart from dropping down to 30’s at detailed airports and I have everything on ultra flying FBW A320 no
Just my two cents
Prerendered frames as high as your CPU can handle. I can go up to 3 with a boosted i9. Make sure u have Low Latency Mode set to off because that sets prerendered frames to 0 and latency is not an issue here. However, i do not know which setting overwrites the other.
Only other Nvidia setting i use is antialiasing transparency. I think that helps with ugly alpha channel shimmering.
Great tip ClydeChBarrow. I’ll give it a go and report back. I’ve been flying the IHawk and Airbus 135 Helo mainly and always the trusted TBM.
Latest driver breaks HDR. Went back to 457.30
Then your system has deeper issues, the graphics drivers updates are usually nothing more than optimisations for specific games or security patches, they are not going to turn your game into a cartoon.
