I am thinking about buying GSX Pro but i am not sure if its still needful or if the MSFS can cover it on its own. Tbh i am confused since i read a lot of negative feedback like ctd etc. about GSX Pro. What is the actual situation?
IMHO a must-have for immersion. Default ground crew is fun and all, but doesn’t win it against GSX.
As for stability, on release it was a bit dodgy. But honestly, last 6 months at least I haven’t had a single performance problem with it
THX. Thats great to hear. More immersion is always welcome in a simulator
Agreed, GSX is very much still relevant. I don’t fly Airliners without it.
GSXPro is nice and probably the only working complete pushback tool + ground handling for MSFS.
Yes, it doesn’t do everyting smootly (janky animation, and vehicle wheel turning animation doesn’t correspond to the actual movement). But if you mostly stick to the cockpit, everything seems flawless.
Implementation-wise, it is as stable as MSFS can consistently get, so no complaints there.
Still, recommended, especially for airliner enthusiasts.
3 comments and all positive. Thx so far.
I picked it up earlier this month - it was on sale at30% off (may still be till end of day). With all the profiles at flightsim.to, the integration was relatively simple. For what I paid for, it was worth it for me. So yeah, i say go for it.
I love it. I use it for connecting jetway (oh, and it changes the default jetways to more realistic, branded ones!), passenger boarding (so fun to watch them board in VR!), and pushback. I don’t use it for catering or refueling anymore just because it takes longer and in VR that immersion doesn’t do much for me.
Oh and the marshaller bringing you in to an arrival gate - that’s always fun to try to get them do dance when you get a perfect docking!
Anyway, yeah - I think it is totally worth it. And it is constantly updated (there was another update today!)
Don’t forget to go into the FSDT Installer, and select “Configure” and exclude any airports you have payware for. This will ensure the correct payware gates (which should be custom since it’s payware) get used and not the generic GSX ones with the names on it.
Don’t forget VDGS system, I’d also recommed this addon.
OK. I have quite a lot of them and countless freeware airports. Do i also need to exclude the freeware airports?
Any airports that use custom jetways, you’d want to exclude. If the freeware is using the Asobo jetways, then just leave it.
Yep, as @skypilotYTS said above, any airports that use custom jetways in their .bgl file, needs to be excluded from GSX Pro. Otherwise you will see either overlapping jetways or jetway that doesn’t fit well to the terminal building.
I’ve been on the fence about getting GSX Pro for a while too. I thought I heard someone say recently that it’s super buggy and doesn’t work well, but that doesn’t align with what I’ve read here so far.
Does GSX fix the issues with stock jetways (disconnected from terminals, wrong locations, etc)?
Hm it sounds like a lot of work to find out which jetways some hundreds of freeware airports use.
It’s fine it works well I love it
But how did you solve the problem with airports not using asobo jetways? I do not understand how i can check undreds of pay- and freeware airports if they use these jetways or not?
It has a feature called exclude third party airports and you can do a quick check to fix the small amount they miss,it isnt a big deal man
Yep,it’s ten/ten and you gotta park Perfectly
So GSX is checking automatically but can oversee some airports. But i have round about 250 freeware aiports and arround 30 payware airports. So this could be some work and how can i see resp. find out which jetway an aiport uses? If i look into my community folder which is 1TB+ i am afraid this will be a lot of work
