Hi there, Is it safe to reinstall an Windows 11 over an existing version of Windows 11 version? I feel that I’m missing important files and that some are corrupt… Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA
I have spent a great deal of time updating all my addons, etc. Most importantly my MSFS 2020, P2ATC, etc…
This is not a Technical Support Response
You can reset Windows which ideally puts you in a factory fresh state, but you will lose all your custom programs, etc. That includes the sim and any supporting programs.

Yes, unfortunately I have to do this occasionally. You can download the Windows 11 media creation tool and “update” Windows by overlaying the current installation. There is an option to keep your current files so you won’t lose anything. I’m not home now so I don’t have the exact site but you can google it. The thumb drive will require 8 gb… I do remember that much.
You could also try some commands to possibly repair the corrupted files before you do the reload. Search for sfc /scannow on this forum and you’ll find them like I did. Best of luck.

Yes, better that way.
Follow the steps as the colleague says here.
Also CMD as administrator.
1-
Sfc /ScanNow
2-
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
3-
Dism /Online /Cleanup-image /RestoreHealth
4-
Sfc /ScanNow
(This again to verify that everything is fine)
