Is it worth to get a G-sync monitor?

Whenever I’ve tried vsync 30 I get like 10 fps max and when I’ve set it to vsync 60 I get 30fps … makes no sense. I also have a 144hz monitor that needs a stable 45+ fps for Gsync to work. Best thing I’ve done for smoothness and tearing is lock my FPS at 35 in the Nvidia Control Panel.

The vsync in game is bugged and gives you half the frame rate. 120 gives you 60 , 60 gives you 30 and 30 gets you 15.

Locking FPS in Nvidia is a better option.

Whilst it is true that the minimum frequency of most 144hz monitors is 1/3 which works out at 48hz Gsync on a Gsync monitor or a freesync monitor with LFC capability should work well below that. Basically (simplified version) if you are getting say 27 fps from the game the gsync or freesync will do something like frame double or triple and feed your monitor the same frame twice at 54hz or three times at 81hz. The result should be less tearing and less micro stutters compared to sending 27 fps to a minimum 48 hz screen.

Gsync monitors refresh from 1-144hz; Gsync compatible monitors typically have a variable refresh rate of 48-144.

48 to 144 doesn’t mean they won’t work if you’re only getting 40fps, but you will possibly get a flicker in Gsync mode below 48. Just turn the Gsync feature off on the actual monitor.

Gsync and Freesync turned off works fine on fs2020. If you have an Nvidia GpU and an full Gsync monitor, Gsync off works fine also.

Ornaryox has a full Gsync module/chip monitor and can leave Gsync enabled in Nvidia control panel.

Anyone who has screen flickering using a Nvidia GPU, turn off Freesync/Gsync; on the monitor. Micro stutter is all FS2020 settings related AND software optimisations; lots of detail and realistic visuals equals quality of smoothness hits. Regardless if you a robust internet connection, latest and greatest system with a $1000 graphics card and latest gen cpu.

Most just have to do some tweaking depending on what aircraft you fly and where you fly. High altitude, low, metropolitan/cities, or a variety.

That’s not true in my experience; setting it to 60 gives me anywhere from 25 to 48fps, depending on scenery, weather conditions, and aircraft.

i was planning to buy a gsync monitor, but i read some people saying that latest update broke gsync.
apparently the fix is to enable vsync on, but i am not going to use vsync on for some personal reasons.
is that true?
