I’m looking for a mod because I don’t like the original weather of the game very much, but mods usually don’t affect the live weather, is there a mod that does this?

No, there is not such mod affecting Live Weather. There are some mods but they only add presets to custom weather.

The game would be more playable if the dev team at least fixed that hellish red light at sunrise and sunset
Doesn’t sound like you want to affect live weather so much as the atmosphere? (Colors, haze, etc…)
There are tools for Atmospheric changes like that.

I just want to reduce these excessive red tones at sunrise and sunset, when you compare the real weather conditions in the game with the ones seen in the pictures, it is very clear that something is wrong.
No, it can’t modify anything based on time of day.

I’d say none that I can notice, but I’m sure there must be some.
There are literally hundreds of filters you can apply.
I use maybe 4-5.

I installed Rex Atmos and got really great results, but I don’t know if I should also get Rex Weather Force, do you think it’s worth it? With Rex Atmos, I can change the weather using Metar, but it’s not live, you have to change it manually all the time.
I tried Rex Weather Force, but couldn’t deal with the abrupt weather changes. Maybe they’ve improved that, but flying from bubble to bubble and having drastic weather changes was annoying.
I’d bought it in a bundle with Rex AccuSeasons, which I like, but unfortunately couldn’t get a refund for Weather Force.

No, I don’t recommend WeatherForce (I have it).
If you’re looking for something like that, I’d go with ActiveSky FS. ATMOS works great with it as well.
When it comes to weather add-ons for flight simulators, there’s no better choice than Active Sky.

If I remember correctly, MSFS community has often suggested on forum that Microsobo should hire Active Sky developer to improve the weather system in MSFS.

I agree. I bought ActiveSky after giving up on Weather Force, and I’m happy with it. I don’t mind flying in a preset environment.

Is active sky just presets or does it do live weather too?
You can choose a preset, live weather and importantly historical weather as well. So, if you missed a hurricane, Active Sky allows you to set the weather from the specific date and time of that hurricane.
