Issue with automatically switching to external view

I’m having an issue where when I start the engine or lowering the landing gear it automatically switches to an external view of that action. This is jarring, especially in VR, and breaks immersion. I need to be able to monitor engine instruments during engine start and it kind of gives me a heart attack everytime it happens. I’m clicking a button in the cockpit so it’s not a keybind issue. I’ve searched the forums and google and can’t find anything. I’ve also gone through every setting in MSFS. How do I turn this off?

Hi @PontG6GXP & welcome to the forums! :slightly_smiling_face:

  • Do you have any 3rd-party addons installed?
  • Does this happen with every aircraft of just one (or a few) - if so, which one(s)?

I have the FSReborn M500, Kodiak III and the TBM 850. I also have slsky4sim toolkit and the all in one tablet. I installed the last two a long time ago. The TBM installed over a month ago and the other two a couple of weeks ago. This started three days ago. It happens with the TBM 930 and M500 so far.

Thanks for getting back to me.

One other thing. When I start the engine it shows the prop from different angles. When I lower the gear it shows the animation of the landing gear. It seems pretty specific. Almost like action views.

Maybe a binding issue? I have something vaguely similar which I’ve isolated but not yet fixed. Try going into Controls Options and in the Mouse section do an input search on what happens when you use the same action as is causing your error. See if there is anything looks a bit odd, like activating a view.
As a precaution, before you change anything, make a duplicate of the (default?) mode with the options manager.
It does sound like a view activation though. Have you got any additional views add-ons? Of course, you will have tried without anything in the Community Folder…?

I checked the bindings and went back to the default mouse binding. No dice. I then removed everything from the community folder and it still didn’t work. For testing I brought up the FSR500, clicked battery, turned fuel pumps to manual, ignition to manual and clicked Push Start. All of this was with the mouse so all I did was move the mouse and left clicked. As soon as I clicked push start it switched to showcase mode and showed views of the prop starting to turn. After about six seconds it returns to the cockpit automatically. If it was a double bind issue I don’t think it would return back to the cockpit automatically. I’m not sure where to take this from here. I have a support case open as well.

So this only happens with the FSReborn M500, Kodiak III and the TBM 850 - not the default aircraft?

With the FSR500 this is a feature so you don’t miss animations, you can disable it via the EFB Settings, action cameras and it will stop doing it.

Best,
Raul

Thank-you for getting back to me Raul. For some reason I didn’t think to check the plane itself. I’ll go turn them off right now. I love your plane, it’s my favorite and I fly it more than anything else. Thanks again!!!

Any of the Assist functions switched on - just a long shot idea.

It was what Raul suggested. The problem has been solved. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
