Hi! I am new to this forum. I have a relatively strange problem. My hardware meets the recommended features to run MSFS smoothly. In fact, I had no problem when I bought the sim a year ago. But recently, I have had a lot of challenges when I am taxiing on the ground. When I start to roll for take-off, it becomes so slow that the screen is almost frame by frame! Interestingly, as soon as I am airborne and gain some altitude, the problem is solved. Then again, as soon as I decent to land, when I get very close to the runway, the same problem happens. I have tried everything to troubleshoot and nothing! I reduce the quality to the lowest, and although some improvement, but no resolution. When I am airborne, I can set the graphics to the Ultra, and absolutely no problem. This started a while ago and I believe after an update. Does anyone know what might be my problem? I am desperate to find the answer as I can’t use my simulator. Thanks.
It’s a known issue. Unfortunately you need to turn off photogrammetry.
Others have reinstalled Windows which also seems to work. Asobo are aware, put please raise a ticket with them
I’ve noticed that whenever I am landing at a big airport, MSFS starts a massive download and processing of files, hundreds of megabytes. I guess it is downloading graphics and texture files for every type of aircraft including liveries, vehicle, building, other objects, textures, and scenery at that airport in order to make the airport as realistic as possible. When I see this happening, I pause the sim and take a break for a few minutes to give MSFS time to finish its file processing. When I return and unpause, performance returns to normal… It isn’t perfect but it works for me.
Amazing!!! I just turned it off and boom! Everything is running smoothly again! Thanks a lot!!!
Hi, is there a solution to enhance VR performance in Windows 11? I had almost no problem running MSFS in VR, but then again after an update (or after I switched to windows 11, not sure), now it takes forever to load while I switch to VR in the cockpit. Thank you.
photogrammetry in some cases (mine) will also play havoc with load times
