Issues with Beech 18 autopilot. I don't get it

Dear all
I struggle with the autopilot of the Beechcraft 18 (local legend).
Especially ILS approach is something I just can’t get to work.

Could anyone maybe help me out with a step-by-step explanation?

I set the frequenzy of the ILS, change from GPS to VLOC, turn the autopilot mode to “LOC REV”… Set the CDI and OBS to the according numbers…

But the plane does not catch it, often in the CDI, the needle works correctly, so the frequence gets recognized as it should, but the OBS does not respond, this now show me the position of the glideslope and like I said, the autopilot does not correctly align at all and the glideslope is ignored.

I’m lost…

Could anyone create a short step-by-step explanation of ALL necessary steps to have it work?
It can’t be that difficult. I might just miss something.

A step-by-step explanation or even better a short step-by-step video would be awesome.

Thanks a lot,
Oliver

LOC REV seems like it may be the backcourse setting. I don’t know the 18 or its autopilot (or why you would want to fly it with an autopilot), but my guess is, that’s your issue.

Theres a good video demo of autopilot usage here: Beginners guide to Autopilot and Radio Navigation in the Beechcraft Model 18 in MSFS - YouTube
thanks to Jonathan Beckett.
