I just purchased airport KIAD from the MSFS 2024 Marketplace. Without this purchase, there were parking spots in front of Signature Flight Support near the end of Runway 19L. Now, with the scenery I purchased, there are no parking spots there, so I tried to start flights from a custom spot in front of Signature, set to “On Ground - Shut down”. First time, it placed the aeroplane ready for flight at the threshold of runway 19L. Second time, it put the aeroplane where I asked for it, but it was about 10 feet in the air and immediately crashed. Third time, it put it on the ground where I asked for it, and it looked OK for about 30 seconds, then it said my landing gear failed and terminated the flight. So, now I use spot Z12, which is the closest viable defined parking spot, but it is not at all what I want.
I never knew you could start a flight custom spot on the ground and shut off, I’m going to try that. Thank you
