Issues with sequencing in the GNS430s, 530s?

I’m flying from EDFM (Mannheim) to EDSB (Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden) using a RWY27 departure (RINEX3W) to an RNAV03 approach.

Steps I’m taking:

  1. Enter the EDFM as departure and two enroute waypoint (INKAM and KRH)

  2. Load the SID (RINEX3W) from the PROC page.

  3. The SID loads fine.

  4. Select the destination approach (RNAV03) and click “Load”.

  5. Nothing seems to happen visually. Going back to the FPL page, the approach waypoints are now present.

The problem:

  • After passing the 800 ft waypoint, the next leg does not activate automatically.

  • Manually activating the leg sets it as active on the GNS, but the HSI does not update and still shows an offset relative to the first waypoint.

  • Direct-To also do not work.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

regards,

Mike!

I’ve done some further research and I believe this could be related to leg-types for the inital climb out of EDFM. The first waypoint “800ft” does not exist in the chart. On G1000s it is represented by arrows. Could anybody please try to reproduce? Thanks, Mike.

Hi @FoxMike1080
I set up the same flight in the basic 172 (530/430-equipped) aircraft without any issues.
I hit the 800’ mark (which I’m thinking might be the minimum IFR climb gradient point, but not sure), and turned to the next waypoint on its own and didn’t require any additional actions from me. Then after completing the departure sequence, moved on to the enroute waypoints and to the approach.
You mentioned the plane you were in had an HSI, so it’s not the C172. Could you tell me which plane you used, and if I have it, I’ll repeat the flight with that plane?
Regards

Hi, thank you for the test. I tried in the Bagolu C172 but also in different verions of the justflight PA28. I need a single piston plane in which the GNS430 is primary NAV/COM for the realsimgear GNS. Regards, Mike
