It’s scary to set the approach mode to ILS on the world map.
ILS is activated at the wrong timing.
In the process of switching to GPS mode and then back to ILS, there are many times when I encounter difficulties.
That’s why I’m reluctant to use ILS.
What avionics systems and airplanes are you using?
It’s scary landing in minimum visibility but once you learn the procedures with the equipment it’s rather straight forward.
i use kingAir350i & default avionic (G3000)
I know how to use ILS equipment.
but… ils in msfs are often activated at the wrong timing.
i think… it is… Bug.
I don’t quite understand why they patched it to automatically switch( GPS > LOC )
So I am afraid to use ILS on the world map, and even if ILS is installed at the airport, I will only use RNAV.
Ah, yes. The G3000 is a bit unpredictable right now. I think Working Title has some updates coming out for it.
Then I’ve also seen some weird stuff at certain airports, especially outside of the US.
I like how on the G1000 units you can tune the ILS volume and hear the Morse code. At least you know the signal is good before hitting APR or CDI button.
I gave up on the 350i its just too flaky in its present state.
It’s been too long since the update stopped.
Moreover, I am not a WT mode user either. I am driving a completely pure default King Air 350i.
Until WT touched the VFR map, King Air was a very good friend to me.
