It would appear that since su5 the airliners fan hubs and blades are gone transparent and certainly they don’t look like they are displaying as they should.
Screenshots of the issue encountered:
This one is sort of ok but still doesn’t look quite right.
I think this probably depends on the engine type and certainly view angle, and just for my feeling I would also say that it may be a little too much see through, but compared to a real engine I find it great that you can actually see through them
I was about to write the same response. I would recommend that @fascat71 researches high bypass turbo fan engines. Its genuinely interesting. I think its great that flight Sim will educate about aviation in general and will simulate more inquisitive thinking. @fascat71 please feel to ask questions if you have any. Always happy to share knowledge.
Thanks guys but I do know about high bypass and I also like the fact that the sim is actually representing this, like you do.
However in this report the last five screenshots are showing engines running at idle and you can also see that the engines center hubs have no color or texture, they are simply plain grey or black. Do I find this realistic? well no! especially since it was better rendered before su5!
In my view this is a shader issue that came along with su5.
You can clearly see the difference when the ambient light and weather conditions changes in this screenshot. In both cases the engine is running at idle, and yet the fan blades and the hub have gone missing on the right image.
