Jet engines should have more realistic engine heat haze effect

Hi guys,

My humble apologies if this topic has been covered or closed but I would really love to see more realistic heat haze effects behind jet engines, specifically the Hornet and all the other 3rd party fighter jets, and hopefully, the airliners too.

The current effects are not realistic - instead of creating a haze or blurring out the surroundings around the engine, the effects create a wave-like or rippling effect, which doesn’t look believable.

Would love to see this updated by Asobo at some point as I’ve noticed some of the 3rd party fighters are using the standard Asobo engine heat haze effects which are not impressive, such as the F-16 by DC Designs for example. the IFT F-35 has very good engine heat haze effects, those are the kind I’m hoping to see across the board for all jet engine aircraft.

Back in FSX it was fun to use the effects file from one plane in another one. I used to do this many times.

A favorite plane of mine had weak strobe lights so I took the strobe file from another plane and fixed it.

Right now in MSFS Im doing a similar thing with sounds, tweaked the airplane file adding a line pointing to the sound inside the folder of another plane.

Greetings,

I’d recommend looking at product images and videos related to the SimFX package at the following link to see if their heat haze effect more suitably meets your expectations. I am not aware of any additional global modifications beyond this at the present time.
