I’ve seen the same issue, and it affects all kinds of jetways.
Tested with default airports, but also with payware (ORBX ESSA, Gaya LOWW,…).
It seems like some sort of LOD handling is broken and causing movement of the jetway objects once connected every time the LOD changes.

It doesn’t seem to affect jetways in their retracted position, or at least not in the same way.

Yes that’s what I thought. You can see in my video the zoom level (LOD) causes the movement of the aerobridges. But why would it cause them to be airborne ?

I think there’s two factors:
One is that elevation data seems to be loaded pretty late so some objects end up spawned in wrong altitude.
Another factor is the LOD thing which seems to move the dynamic part of jetways vertically and laterally every time the higher LOD is loaded, probably based on the difference of initial and connected state…

It’s just broken.
And Jetstream LFPO jetways do not work at all (and there’s a river across the apron). So much for the full backward compatibility of the SDK…

It’s widespread and I’ve seen it at many airports. I wonder what the fix is and whether they can fix it across the program or do they have to individually fix every airport ?

My jetways are literally coming from the cloud

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes

• Impacts Aerosoft sceneries with jetways too-eg. EBBR Brussels.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• Easily reproduced at all sceneries mentioned in this thread, such as EBBR/Brussels by Aerosoft

It might be a thread timing issue.

Objects are maybe drawn late, after the zoom level has changed. So they appear at the old zoom location on the screen.

I’ve seen jetways loaded in full detail last, only when the camera gets really close.

One trick is to fly around the airport with the free cam at rudder height, with an eye on task manager network speed.

There are bursts of stream data as you get close to new objects. Eventually the cache fills up with everything you need, network traffic is almost zero and the GPU has what it needs to draw a complete frame.

My 1080TI has 11GB of VRAM, some users say you need more.

In other words, download the entire airport first.

I have a 4090 and I have this problem.

Why should we have to do this ? This a problem with the program.

• Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• I’m on Premium Deluxe and have noticed this at many handcrafted airports or MSFS2020 WU airports that have come across. I’ve seen it so far at EGLL (which also has missing terminals), KSFO, KATL, KLAX so far and possibly a few others I’ve forgotten. Tried clearing caches, StreamedPackages, and Scenery Indexes folders.

This is not the solution. It happens with any airport, even airports in the Community folder, neither should I require to do anything for jetways not to randomly being displaced.

It also has nothing to do with VRAM, not sure why you are bringing that up.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: In free flight, Loaded default A330-300 at a gate and connected the jetway. It connected fine, but the jetway has all kinds of strange poses when panning around in external camera.
Also while I was walking around the plane while it was still cold and dark, another AI plane parked (737) and basically went inside my parked A330. All the usual ground services also got activated.

Some example screenshots are attached.

ICAO, coordinates, or specific location: EHAM

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
I have no add-ons installed. This is just plain vanilla msfs2024 install.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)? Jetway issue occurred each time i tried it.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Launch MSFS2024 and select free flight
  2. Select A330-300 and EHAM airport gate G4
  3. Connect Jetway via EFB and then switch to external camera and pan around.

• YES. In external view, when panning and / or zooming, the active jetway flips, turns, expands.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• I have GSX installed. Not only happening in EHAM but as well in LOWW from Gaya.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• I have the same issue on every standard airport with own aircraft and ai traffic

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

happens at all airports when a jetway is connected and you switch from cockpit camera to external view and back. It happens with and without gsx installed.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Objects have to be loaded into VRAM (if full it slows down). The jetways seem to load last, when they are in the foreground. So any delay in loading means they might not render for a few frames, by which time the zoom could have changed. Then they could render in the wrong place. It’s speculation, I used to be a developer so I’m trying to think what causes the bug.

That’s it.

But I can confirm that today’s update fixed the issue for the few airports I tried today.
