Jetways do not connect to correct door

 Thank you for using the Bug section, using templates provided will greatly help the team reproducing the issue and ease the process of fixing it.

Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it?

No

Have you disabled/removed all your mods and addons?

N/A

Brief description of the issue:

Due to how jetways behave in the simulator, in some cases they will not connect to the correct door. In almost all cases, the jetway should connect to the forward left door.

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

ICAO or coordinates (DevMode > Debug > Display position)

Happens at multiple airports. I’ve seen it at gate C1 (shown in the screenshot) at PANC and a variety of gates at YSSY

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Go to an airport where the jetway is at least slightly closer to the rear left door. Call the jetway.

PC specs and/or peripheral set up if relevant:

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:

1.30.12.0

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

This happens because MSFS always connects to the nearest operational door. Asobo needs to implement a system where one is able to either choose the door, of force connects it to the main exit defined in an aircraft config, rather than the closest one.

(Btw Michael this answer is not for you as I’ve already explained it to you; it is rather for others to understand the cause of the issue  )

Hello,
The Microsoft QA team was unable to reproduce this issue at PANC & YSSY. If you have any 3rd Party airport mods or utilities, please remove them as this was tested on a “vanilla” install of MSFS.

Thank you!

This issue isn’t relevant to having third party addons. It’s simply a bug with how MSFS handles jetways. If you read the comment above yours, you’ll see an explanation of what is happening, why it’s happening, and how it can be fixed.

When they tested this, jetways were working as they should (vanilla install of MSFS). I’ve personally not tested it.

The problem is that if the jetway is slightly closer to the rear door, the jetway will go to the rear door even though it should go to the front door.

Then go watch the latest GSX Video FSDT posted after their SU12 update. Even this well established developer shows off this sim limitation.

The problem is simple and reproduceable: once the aircraft is parked in a spot where the rear door is closer to the Jetway node than the front door, the jetway will connect to the rear door, or whichever door is closest to the Jetway node. Explained here: FSDT GSX Pro MSFS Sim Update 12 - YouTube

Like this is LITERALLY the EXACT issue!

Also, testing it with a Vanilla sim is kinda pointless when PANC is clearly not a default scenery, isn’t?

And no, this has nothing to do with any addons because no addon is able to interfere with the logic of jetways due to a sim limitatin. I assume it worked at default airports because the Parking position is further back, therefore, the front exit is closer to the jetway node…

Attached are more screenshots of the issue, but at a default airport.

This needs to be addressed soon. GSX has a customer base that would massively benefit from the use of double/triple jet ways.

Especially with the A340/A380 being developed.
