My newly installed FS 2020 Premium Deluxe doesn’t work with my older Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 joystick. Is there a way to configure FS 2020 to work with that joystick? Or can you recommend some newer joystick to buy that will work with FS2020?
Not sure if you’ve tried this: try the “Setup USB Game Controllers” control panel and make sure Windows is seeing all the buttons on your controller. This also allows you to recalibrate the axes to make sure your device is behaving as you expect. Assuming this helps, open the controller settings in the simulator to set your button assignments. Make sure you set the filter to “assigned” to see the default settings, then use “unassigned” to find and set the buttons to your liking. You can use the “sensitivity” panel, accessible above the filter panel on the left, to adjust the sensitivity of the axes of your controller.
any info for AV8R-01 Saitek?i have one and is not working if i try to configure.
If you end up going for something else; I purchased the Thrustmaster T16000M HOTAS set for this sim, and it’s working great. Loads of buttons, 4 and 8 directional switches, sliders, rudder paddle and even a thumbstick to configure for all your needs.
I love this thing. Might even opt for the full foot-rudder add-on later on the line.

A solid vote here for the Airbus TCA stick. It uses magnetic sensors which are incredibly responsive. 16 switches and a throttle!
yep, Both the T16000M and the Airbus TCA stick are basically the same product, but wrapped in a different package. The hall effect sensors on the stick are great.
Same setup here. Pretty slick. The joystick is really nice; the HOTAS I’m not as impressed with, but it’s still decent.
One thing I have done that’s kinda nice for taxi is to map the rudder to the paddle on the HOTAS. Works great!
About the throttle quadrant; what’s your main complaint? Mine felt ‘sticky’ a bit when I first got it, but after loosening the tension screw on the bottom a bit I’m pretty happy with it. Is it the best in the world? Nah, probably not. But it’s pretty great if you consider the price 
For the price it is a bargain… agree 100%!
I’ll try loosening the tension screw. I know exactly what you mean by “sticky” - which is my biggest gripe with it.

no problem at all. Be sure to have the throttle at 100% when you try to find the screw, otherwise you’ll be looking for a long time

it’s the second hole from the top, in the middle (horizontally) of the bottom plate.
